5 /5 Jason Rineer: We visited Stokesay Castle as a family to celebrate my son’s birthday, and it was a fantastic experience. The exterior of the castle is amazing and inspiring, truly a sight to see. The venue itself is impressive a legit medieval English style castle with a great atmosphere build in the early 1900’s. The dining area is large and open, with a spacious bar and plenty of seating. Our service was top notch, and the manager was especially welcoming, taking time to share some of the castle’s history and what they offer, which added a really nice personal touch to our visit. The food was solid. I’d give it a 4 out of 5. As a family, we enjoyed the ribs, shepherd’s pie, and a couple of burgers. Everything was well prepared, though both burgers came out well-done despite being ordered medium. That said, they were still enjoyable. After dinner, we took a walk through the castle. There’s a large banquet hall perfect for hosting big events, a stunning main room with tall ceilings and exposed rafters, ideal for mid-size events or themed parties, and several other rooms well-suited for more intimate gatherings. All in all, between the food, the unique setting, and the warm hospitality, the experience easily earned a 5 Star rating from us. We’re thankful this one of a kind place was saved and restored. It’s worth visiting, especially for special occasions.

4 /5 Peggy: Had a nice dinner at the knights pub. Sean was a friendly, attentive waiter. Food was served in a timely manner. Crab dip a little too salty but a generous portion. Enjoyed crab cake sandwich and steak sandwich. Yummy chocolate cake. Very nice atmosphere. All large portions. Took home half tree he meal. Would definitely go again.

4 /5 Stacy Bania: We were in Reading for a brief stay and decided we wanted to find a more unique place to eat. Its off the beaten track up the hill not too far from the Pagoda, on a small Spooky road behind a Beer garden. The signage is a bit ambiguous for a first timer, we parked in the upper lot and took the opening between the quaint carriage house (event planning) and Castle and got to the back entrance of the pub near the restroom first but after some exploring you can walk on past the fire pit area around the building to see the fountain and go left into the entrance to the pub greeter and what appeared to be an event space. The pub itself was visually very pretty, a big bar with TVs and lots of tables. There was live music on the Saturday we were there, a little loud for the space but enjoyable. Im not sure if our server had too many tables but he was only marginally attentive and I had to go find him to ask for Ketchup and something we needed corrected. FYI there is an adult and kids grilled cheese that are very different, be clear on what you are ordering if you have older kids. Overall the quality of the food was pretty good, the best was the roast beef which had an excellent quality roll. We would likely give it another try if in the area, the setting is definitely beautiful and I can see why folks would choose it for a wedding venue.
