2 /5 Maxwell Ceeburt: Okay. Ive been to this bar 3 times. Nothing has changed. I wont come back. My first time, I wanted to sit in the dining room as the bar was pretty full. Theres a sign that says "wait to be seated." So, we waited patiently. Host was at the edge of the bar drinking instead of welcoming guests. If youre off duty, take off your Teds Shirt. Needless to say, we never got to sit in the dining room and had to wait for someone to leave the bar. Upon sitting, tons of beer glass rings. When I mentioned something to the bartender and asked politely if we could have a clean place to sit, she looked at us as if we were a waste of space. We ended up using the drink napkins to clean it, and gosh for bid someome was avaliable to give us napkins after the food came out besides the single napking that comes with the silverware. The food was great, rise and shine burger made up for that specific visit. If I could tip the chef, I would. The server certainly didnt deserve it.
Second vist. Was a bit better, service was faster and there was a gentleman bartending. The only complaint there was it took a while to get the hint we were ready to leave. I understand we arent the only guests in there, but if Im tapping my card and waiving payment in front of you, youre only costing yourself tips because you could have new guests in if we could leave. More guests equals more tips. We were trying to do him a favor by leaving, but he didnt seem to care.
This visit today, two women were definitely rude. We sat down on an empty bar, and again like our first visit was greeted with tons of beer rings all the way throughout. Didnt matter what spot we sat in, it was a mess. Was definitely not a pleasant experience. We wanted to order food, and it was like pulling teeth to get a menu. When ordering soda, we found out its Pepsi. I guess this bar doesnt serve Rum and COKE!!! So, bad drinks, bad service, decent kitchen. The cooks should boycott the employer and open their own restaurant because Id certainly support their business versus these snobby waitresses. If you dont like you job, quit. Many of them probably do, because I dont think Ive ever seen the same bartender more than once and they all suck.
Never coming again. I moved to New Jersey, and I have my spots when I come home to visit family, this wont be one of them. Go to JB Lovedrafts downtown Harrisburg, Nocturnal in downtown Harrisburg. Theres plenty of other places. The vibes are upbeat. Bartenders manage a full bar in addition to counter walk ups, and they do it with smiles. This place called Teds cant serve an empty bar. Absolutely pathetic. Keep up the good kitchen work, other than that, dont come here.
