5 /5 Ashley Cho: The Whip Tavern is a bit in the boondocks, but it has a crowded (free) valet parking area. Inside, the atmosphere is rustic yet cozy—very English pub–style. You can tell this place gets packed with locals, making it feel like a hidden gem. The servers definitely expect you to have a reservation, so it’s highly recommended.
There’s a nice selection of beers to choose from. The Scotch egg was decent. The soups were a bit disappointing especially the mushroom soup, which wasn’t the creamy mushroom soup most people would expect. It was very bland.. tasted healthy.
That said, I was blown away by the weekend special beef Wellington. The bangers and mash were pretty good as well. The English toffee pudding was excellent!
Overall, the prices weren’t bad. The bartender greeted us promptly and my server was great. I would definitely come back and try more dishes.
