john solecki Great place in downtown Reading along the railroad tracks. The former Franklin Street Station sat vacant for over 25 years but was transformed into a brew pub restaurant. The parking lot is safe and secure. Staff is friendly and helpful. Saucony Creel brewery offers variety of great tasting craft brews. The food is delicious. Don’t miss out on this classic former train station for a great beer and some good food.

4.Mom Chaffes Cellarette

Address: 148 Tulpehocken Ave, Reading, PA 19611

Andi Bombard The restaurant is nearly 100 years old, the ambience is very cozy and in an adorable building. It’s a little bit on the fancier side, but at no point did it feel like anything was pretentious. However, the restaurant is kind of small so I see why they recommend reservations. The server was fantastic and very patient with our large group. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The garlic bread that you get before your meal is insane. I could’ve eaten that alone for my whole meal. The wine selection is fantastic. The Rubiolo Chianti was a perfect complement to my ravioli with meat sauce. Absolutely everything was exceptional and I would love to come back again.

7.State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen

Samantha Petrus Delicious food, cocktail lounge/bar atmosphere, and friendly staff! Restaurant is very clean and we cant say enough how good the food was! We got the Cajun scallops to start, then enjoyed the seafood mac & cheese, the burrata blush, and the billionaire smash burger. Everything was phenomenal. Pasta and seafood were cooked perfectly and the sauces were delicious, and the burger was SO juicy and complimented by the truffle aioli and bacon onion jam. The side Caesar salad was heavy on the fish since they do top it with anchovies, but you could ask for it without them. Well definitely be back again soon!

CWOK We went here for dinner while waiting for a show at the nearby theatre. The food was really good and the service was friendly and fast. The menu has a lot of choices and you can get breakfast all day. Treat yourself to a smoothie too. I got the PB and banana and it was very thick and full of fresh banana and lots of PB. Many thanks, our family really enjoyed our dinner here.

11.Cheers Bistro at the DoubleTree

Address: 701 Penn St, Reading, PA 19601

Deb Moatz Cheers Bistro at the DoubleTree in Reading PA was part of a perfect evening! Our server, "Kiana", was attentive and helpful with the menu, and we enjoyed the Prime Rib Chili, Grilled Chicken BLT, their signature Tomato Gorgonzola soup, and an amazing Street Corn Salad, followed by a Creme Brulee for dessert. All the items were generous portions, well-prepared and delicious. Because we were heading to the Reading Symphony Orchestra performance, Kiana offered to keep some items for us to pick up after the performance, which I didnt remember until we arrived home. I phoned the restaurant and they said to come at my convenience the next day. That morning I was met by "Dee" who cheerfully and quickly went out of her way to be sure that I got what I came for. Overall, dinner at Cheers Bistro was part of our perfect evening, and we look forward to visiting again at the next opportunity.

Kristen Nelson I just moved to the area this past summer and tonight was the first time I’ve experienced this incredible restaurant. The drinks were perfection- thank you for stuffing me blue cheese olives! The food was absolutely out of this world- the Jager Schnitzel was the BEST I have ever had—and I spent 3 years living in Germany. Kelly, our server, is so attentive and her kindness and joy are contagious!! It was the best meal out and best service I have had in I don’t even know how long. I’ll be a regular forever and I’ll make sure Kelly is there when I go!

15.The Brick House Pub

Address: 1348 Brooke Blvd, Reading, PA 19607

(310) user ratings total:

Denise Martino We stopped here on our way back home to Bristol after visiting Koziars Christmas Village. The tavern is in a residential neighborhood and is an actual brick house so dont expect a standalone commercial establishment or something in a strip mall, etc. It was about 8pm and we were seated right away. Between the 6 of us we got burgers, fries, chili, Jack Daniels wings, a chicken Caesar wrap, chicken pesto panini, mozz sticks, and salads. Everything was *delicious* (I had a build-your-own burger and it was fantastic). Our server was friendly and attentive and incredibly helpful in accommodating a soy & wheat/gluten allergy. If were ever back in Reading well definitely be back!
