Lauri B 1/3/2026: Very pleased with our dining experience. Victor was a wonderful waiter. The portions are large enough to split. The decor is steeped with history of the Gaido family. The restaurant was clean. The linen tablecloths make it feel even more fancy. We were dressed in business casual attire, but others came in wearing shorts. As we are having a very warm "winter" here in the south, I think shorts and flipflops work anywhere, especially a beachside restaurant. My friend and I split the crab avocado appetizer and then we split the grilled shrimp entree. Everything was wonderful! We had a party of 4 in our group. In all my travels to Galveston, I cannot believe I have never been to Gaidos. What a treat! Its funny.. Ive been to their gift shop located in the restaurant but this was first time eating at said restaurant. Kind of backwards. Ha! The gift shop is really nice, so dont forget to stop in there after or before dining.

Elias B. Olivo A very unique dining experience! The price IS worth the service and food. Each nest presented is perfectly prepared with rock salt, and the meats are so tender, you can cut it with your spoon. My wife is not one to ever try lamb; however, she and the rest of my family enjoyed the leg of lamb cuts, the beef cuts, the chicken wrapped with bacon, the flank steaks (fajita), the sirloin, and other cuts presented. The service by our waitress was Top-Tier and on spot! The mash potatoes and the bananas with cinnamon simply amazing. The desserts were very delicious, consumed contently with their coffee. Yes, we will be back in the near future. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!

JD Johns I was really impressed with my experience in this dark, clubby feel restaurant. Nice bar area with great service and excellent cocktails. Once we got to the table, we ordered shishito and lump crab dip - wow! Also enjoyed the ahi tuna tacos - not great but standard tuna app you see in many restaurants. We shared the hot stone fried rice with shrimp - it was the best dish of the night. outstanding! Our entrees were excellent as well. The miso Sea Bass was perfectly cooked with mashed pots and broccolini. So freaking good! The boneless ribeye was very good and cooked to perfection but the stars tonight were hot stone fried rice and Sea Bass. Service was outstanding, however, the wine list was a bit pedestrian for my tastes. I look forward to returning.

LaShawn McElvane A huge thank you to the staff and owners of Bernards!! I was throwing a surprise 60th birthday for my mom and I lived out of state. Cindy was extremely helpful in helping me plan a beautiful event for about 50 people. Everything was five stars, including the food, the service and the beautiful ambience. I had to travel the same day as the event, and I was able to just show up, and everything was perfect. Amazing experience!!

Adrian and Gheorghina Surducan I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — every dish was delicious from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a great meal. A huge shout-out to our server, Peyton, who truly made the experience unforgettable. Peyton was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. Their timing was perfect, and they made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s rare to find a server who combines professionalism with such genuine friendliness — Peyton is a gem! I highly recommend this location. We will definitely be returning — and asking for Peyton again!

Yao Fei The beef rib is the a must try! Juicy, tender, and perfect balance of smoke and flavor. The atmosphere is very interesting too- starting from order the meat from a giant warmer/oven, pick your sides and dessert, and the waiter will hand you a piece of paper as your plate. Self serving soup, onion and pickles. Eating area with college style tables, signs, pictures… I see a few parties over 15 gatherings together eating and laughing, and waiters walking by with smiles to clean the tables. I can feel the free spirit in both the food and the environment. Will definitely come again!
