5 /5 Marge: From Seattle. Been tasting brisket in cities around Kyle, TX. Ended up in La Grange at the Texas Quilt Museum. Stopped in at Back Porch BBQ about 1:00 pm. Ordered the bake potato fully loaded with brisket. Poured sauce all over it. Pretty damn good.

4 /5 John Kiappes: Been there many times. Service is friendly , courteous, attentive and quick. Appetizer s are all good…especially the fried onion strips. Barbecue(brisket, ribs, chicken) all great. Was out of chicken this time. Ordered a hamburger…boy, what a mistake..flavorless, small, definitely a disappointment and will never order again. Plan to go back…but now know what MOT to order.

4 /5 JAT Burd: First time visiting. Seat yourself. Near 1:00pm and out of turkey and baked potato. So come early. The brisket, pulled pork and sausage were all wonderful. We had frickles (fried pickles) as appetizer. They were great. Sides were okra (average), beans (loved the seasoning ), slaw (not our favorite )and potato salad (not our favorite). Our server (don’t know her name) was great. We will be back

5 /5 Beth Coyle Mueller: My husband and I were passing through on the way to Alice Texas, when we spied what looked like a great spot to stop for lunch... When there are a lot of police cars at a BBQ restaurant, either there is something going on or the food is really great. In this case its the food... Really good menu, easy to order... Service was great and the place was packed. My husband and I both had barbecue sandwiches, I had the brisket, loaded with so many succulent slices of brisket that I had to eat some with a knife and fork before I could get the sandwich to work! My husband had a mixed BBQ sandwich, which came on a locally baked sourdough bun... He is gluten sensitive, but can have sourdough, so this was really nice. Service was good, prompt even though the place was packed. There is a bar, bar tables and regular tables as well, with sports channels going on several TV screens around the rooms. This is not a quiet place, but very enjoyable and seem to be full of locals.
