George’s Restaurant Bar & Catering - Waco

Rating: 4.5 /5
GO KR If youre able foodie and looking for the dining heart of Waco,TX then look no further than Georges. The staff was beyond welcoming and made you feel like this was the only place you wanted to be. With a slightly over modest crowd we were promptly seated and our orders were taken in less than 3 minutes. No more than 10 minutes went by and our food was served hot and ready. The drinks are sailor approved, the food was impeccable and the environment screams welcome to Waco. 10/10 I would recommend this place to the father, son and the holy ghost if they were looking to the total package. Kudos to everyone involved in making this a worthy experience.

Commerce Cafe - Lockhart

Trine Santa Was our first visit, and will certainly not be our last. The service was great…our beverages stayed filled and we didn’t have to wait on anything. The unsweetened iced tea tasted fresh brewed - I am particular about “several day old tea” taste. The food was tasty and well presented. We tried the Not-so-common BLT and the Mushroom Risotto. Reasonable wait time on the food preparation. The BLT bacon was good cuts of bacon that were absolutely perfectly cooked. The eggs were just right…cooked enough to not be too messy, but not overcooked so the yolk was like a nice sauce on the bacon. The fries were perfectly crispy and potato-y. The risotto was creamy and a good consistency. It was seasoned well, allowing the mushrooms to be the star of the show. Great location, it’s right in the town square across from the courthouse. Will try it again based on our first experience.

Scratch Sandwich Company & Brunch - Laredo

Rating: 4.4 /5
Russ Roberts If youre anywhere near Laredo, do yourself a favor and make your way to Scratch Sandwich Company. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and full of the delicious smell of freshly made bread and sizzling meats. This place doesn’t just serve sandwiches—they serve experiences stacked between slices of heaven. We tried several items off the menu and honestly, each one was a knockout. The ingredients were unbelievably fresh, and you could tell everything was made in-house with care. The bread? Perfectly baked with that slight crunch on the outside and soft, chewy center. The meats were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—whether youre into brisket, pulled pork, or classic deli cuts, you’ll find something that hits the spot. One standout was their signature sandwich—the flavor combinations were bold but balanced, and the sauces (which I’m convinced are made by wizards) tied everything together flawlessly. Their creative use of toppings adds layers of flavor without overpowering the main ingredients. Oh, and don’t sleep on the sides—the fries were crispy and golden, and the house pickles were tangy with just the right kick. Service was quick, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they’re serving, and rightfully so. Overall, Scratch Sandwich Company is a gem in Laredo. It’s the kind of place you come back to again and again—and then tell everyone you know about. Whether you’re a sandwich fanatic or just hungry for something amazing, you’ll leave happy (and probably full for the rest of the day).

Haniya Faheem Yesterday, we visited this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The team truly went above and beyond, from helping us with decorations to making sure everything was set up perfectly for the celebration. The food was warm, fresh, and incredibly delicious, and every dish was enjoyed by our group. What really stood out was the top-notch customer service. Blue Jean Café - Stamford

Bob Thorman Very cool gem of a restaurant right here in Stamford, TX. The service was excellent and the food was better. My wife and I had the fish tacos which was the special for the day and we both loved them. The red beans that came with them were delicious and the house made chips and salsa was phenomenal. Great place, highly recommend. Weve been back several times since my initial review and it has always been great. The chef here can really cook. I had some BBQ brisket tacos one night and they were delicious. Ill probably dream about them. So good. And the service is always great. Everyone is friendly and theyre great servers.
