Darkside Brick Oven Pizza Co - (Near Boerne, TX)

5 /5 Carol Glass: The atmosphere of this place lived up to the hype. The memorabilia collection is much bigger than I expected and it top quality. The food was good and the service was great. I was surprised that we had paper plates to eat off of and plastic cups, but ultimately it did not take away from the experience. We will definitely be back.

5 /5 Jeff: Going to this place has been on our to do list for a few months now. We finally went tonight and it was a great experience. We did a half and half for the two pizzas that we ordered so we were able to try the brisket bbq pizza, the chicken bbq pizza, the meat lovers pizza, and the white margarita pizza. Each pizza type was very good. The white margarita pizza was the one that stood out the most though. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a margarita pizza fan but the flavors were outstanding together. The least favorite was the chicken bbq pizza. While it was good it just tasted somewhat bland and meh. The dough and toppings tasted exceptionally fresh and just downright good. Since the pizzas served at this restaurant are more along the authentic Italian style they are made with a thin doughy crust and they do not have a lot of sauce like the typical pizzas served at most other places. I also tried their lemon cake, cream brulee, & the skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. Each of these desserts were good but just ok. The atmosphere along with the memorabilia of course is the coolest part of this restaurant. Any fan of the 80s and 90s movies toys, etc would definitely have their nostalgia fix.

5 /5 Heather Johnson: This fun place feels of 80s memories! I came here at lunch on a Saturday just about 1200. There was parking and also seating! When we walked in I saw Luke Skywalker, Yoda and so many fun things that brought back all the memories. From toys to movie memorabilia there were tons of things to look at!! We started with the garlic knots, the order had 4 and marinara sauce. They were very tasty. Personally, I would have used half of the dough and given 8 instead to have more of the yummy garlic sauce!! The pizza we got were 2- 12 inch pizzas. It fed all 4 of us and we didnt have left overs. We got a BBQ chicken (unfortunately they were out of brisket), and Hawaiian. Both pizzas were tasty, full of amazing flavors amd I enjoyed them. The oven is a brick oven they were baked in and you could taste the wood fire flavors! The wait staff was very nice and we got beverage refills quickly. They did suggest dessert, and the dessert we wanted was the spaghetti, but per the waitress who had been here for about 6 months she said, the machine is not working. So, overall 5 stars, I could have removed one for no brisket and for not getting the dessert we wanted, but the atmosphere would not let me remove a star. So, there is that...lol It was fun and for special occasions I can see coming back. We live about 45 minutes away, so we had to make a special drive out and I would do it again!!

5 /5 heather jones: We had the best experience at the Darkside! Our waitress Nicki was amazing and very friendly and took great care of us. The garlic knots were the best part of the meal, though the sandwich was amazing too as was the pizza. We met the owner Michael who was kind enough to give us a quick tour and tell us about the displays which our kids LOVED. This restaurant surpassed all our expectations which was great since we traveled pretty far to get here- definitely worth the drive and the kids are already asking when we can go back!
