John T Beautiful interior and good food! I’ve been a few times - this last time, we came for a friend’s birthday, and we really enjoyed our time. Brianna was our server, and she was so nice and attentive. We got the Spicy Chicken Skewers, Burrata, and the Green Olive and Artichoke Pizza. I got the banana espresso martini with baileys - it was delicious!! The decor inside is always beautiful - I love the butterfly decor for fall. The outside patio is pretty too. I highly recommend for brunch, lunch, or dinner - inside or outside.

Kristin Kurzawski I had previously been to this restaurant alone on a visit to New Braunfels and just by chance my mother in law and I decided to stop there for her birthday lunch this past week. It was even better than I remembered (which was already great!)!! Our server, Pearl, took wonderful care of us and even indulged us by creating a fancy layered “birthday shot” called a B52 that’s a tradition for my mother in law and I on her birthday. We can’t wait to come back for more delicious food and top notch service at this wonderful establishment.

Norma A Aguirre Delicious. Great flavor. All the food was great. Ordered a small shrimp cocktail and it had A Lot of shrimp. Had more shrimp than some large cocktails Ive ordered at other restaurants. Highly recommend!!!

R. Matt LeMaster Love this place. This is the taste of Alice! One of the best restaurants around here! The John Wayne taco is a perfect meal with loads of flavor. The John Wayne beans might be the most amazing dish in the world. They probably aren’t good for you but that might be what makes them so delicious. The guacamole might be made fresh When you order it because it’s is the most crisp, fresh, delicious guac I’ve ever had! Service is great! Always a smile and always polite. The drive through line is a bit long but you’ll only average maybe 15 from the road to the window. It’s worth it!! Highly recommended place for all! Don’t mind the paper bowl. I have a scoop of the John Wayne beans with my JW taco and take the rest to work for breakfast.

Every time I’ve come here, the servers have been fast, courteous, and genuinely attentive. You never feel rushed — if you need something, they’re right there and honestly theyre always in a good mood naturally. This time was especially meaningful. We came in hoping to have a quiet place for Bible study while we ate, but the dining area was pretty noisy and it was too cold to sit outside. We mentioned to our server that we were just trying to find a peaceful spot to do our Bible study, and without hesitation he got the Manager and he said, “We have a private room in the back — you can use that.” Even though the lights were off, he turned them on and set us up in a quiet corner so we could have our time in peace. That small act of kindness meant a lot. Not many restaurants would go out of their way to accommodate something like that, especially when it comes to something personal like Bible study. It felt respectful, welcoming, and above and beyond what we expected. We were able to eat, talk, and study comfortably without feeling rushed or out of place. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for great food, warm service, and a place that truly cares about its guests, La Playa Mexican Café is it. We will definitely keep coming back.❤️❤️ To the manager Thank you so much!!!
