Lina DLC In the heart of Denton, TX, we discovered Osteria Il Muro—an intimate restaurant with only 28–30 seats. We were warmly welcomed, and the wait time was under 10 minutes. Taylor, our server, greeted us and explained the restaurant’s concept and how the menu flows harmoniously, emphasizing that every dish is crafted entirely from scratch. Menu: Our selection began with the rosemary focaccia and house-made butter. We followed with six oysters—the balance of blood orange and garlic offered an interesting and refreshing combination. We would have enjoyed a touch more heat to complement the flavors. Main Courses: The Oxtail Genovese featured perfectly al dente pasta and incredibly tender meat. A well-balanced dish. The star of the evening was the special: a short rib cooked sous vide for 24 hours. The red wine reduction and mushroom purée created a flawless pairing. Both dishes were served in shareable portions, inviting us to compare flavors and encouraging lively conversation at the table. Dolce: We chose the gelato flight with three flavors—limoncello biscotti, sauvignon blanc, and chocolate peppermint. Overall, Osteria il Muro offers an intimate experience in a lively and refreshing atmosphere. Service is top-tier from the moment you arrive. Culinary-wise, it’s a place that deserves recognition as one of the best for its innovative concept. We will definitely return to enjoy more of their creations. Although keeping an eye on the reservation system (Tock) is necessary, the visit is worth every penny.

Brian McSteen 5 Stars – The Best Brisket Sandwich I’ve Ever Had (And a Wild Story to Go With It) This is one of those stories that makes you believe in perfect timing. I was on my way from McAllen to San Antonio, driving through unfamiliar towns, and I happened to be passing through Premont. I didn’t even realize where I was until I started Googling, “Where is Premont?” and sure enough, I was already in it. Right then, out of nowhere, my buddy Isaac messaged me. He said you wanted to catch up and added, “If you’re ever in Premont, you’ve got to stop by.” He had no idea I was already there. Total coincidence — or maybe something more. Earlier that morning, I had sent my girlfriend a photo of a brisket sandwich for breakfast. She replied with a picture of one, and that instantly made me hungry. Fast forward a bit, I meet up with Isaac at his ranch — and without me saying anything — he tells me, “You have to go down to Gonzolitoz and try their brisket sandwich.” I didn’t mention food, brisket, or even that I was hungry and yet that’s what he said. It felt like the whole moment was meant to happen, like I was being led to this exact experience. And let me tell you, that sandwich? It was absolutely next level. Smoky, tender brisket, loaded with flavor, topped with pickles, jalapeños, onions, sauce! Every bite hit like a reward from the universe. This wasn’t just a good brisket sandwich… it was the best I’ve ever had. So if you’re ever driving through South Texas or even remotely near Premont do yourself a favor and go to Gonzolitoz and do what I did ask them to make the best brisket sandwich you’ve ever had. This place isn’t just food, it’s a whole experience waiting to happen.
