5 /5 Sills Michael: Tucked away from the busier side of Galveston a quaint refuge I nearly would have missed had I not been looking for it, Palmetto Osteria is my new favorite spot for Italian fare. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. We started off dinner with a bread board of foccacia, which comes with two spreads, a fantastic white bean paste which is similar to hummus, but I may prefer it now to hummus, and marinated tomatoes. For our mains we ordered the Veal Piccata and Black Truffle pasta, both were wonderful, the truffle wasnt overwhelming in the pasta and the Veal was cooked to perfection. We kept it simple for dessert and capped it off with a pistachio Gelato, which was recommended by our server Genesis and it did not disappoint. Genesis was very helpful and friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The restaurant has a great selection of wines and liquors.
