Pizza Volterra - (Near Boerne, TX)

5 /5 Rankin Roots: My family stopped in for a quick bite to eat today. The food was phenomenal!! I was hesitant at first when we pulled up to a good truck, do it!!! Best Pizza I think I have ever had. The flavor was top notch. And the caprese salad was fresh and honestly divine! I dipped my pizza crust in the oil from my salad afterwards. Ate every single bite. 10 out of 10 will go back again.

5 /5 Lyndsie M: AMAZING!! OMG!! Definitely the best pizza in Boerne. I ordered the mushroom pizza(Il Fungo), which is full of rich flavors and the Panouzzo Which is equally as good. I just asked to hold the meat for a great vegetarian option on the sandwhich:) also PLEASE get the gelato you will not regret it, it’s genuinely my favorite gelato I’ve ever had. I tried every flavor but I have to say the peanut butter one is my favorite. Will come back again and again

4 /5 Kimberly McCormick: The pizza is the best tasting pizza I have ever eaten. The spicy pepperoni in the fresh basil mix with the oil on the pizza and create an outstanding flavor combination. The only reason I didn’t rate the food with five stars is that the pizza is so thin that it flops all over the place and you cannot hold it up to put it in your mouth. One of the features that this food truck boasts is that they provide you with scissors to cut the pie, and I had difficulty with that, but that’s probably my fault. I believe if the restaurant had provided flatware, and I could’ve eaten the pizza that way instead of trying to pick it apart with my fingers, I would’ve rated the Pizza higher. The service was perfect! The two individuals in the truck were friendly, sincere, and helpful. The atmosphere is not what I expected, as it is a food truck, of which I was not aware even reading reviews, and while there is a patio area with chairs and tables, you have to get a ticket to use the restroom, which is in an adjoining restaurant. This adjoining restaurant is a cigar bar, and people are outside on that restaurant patio smoking cigars, seated in immediately to the pizza truck’s dining area. As a non-smoker, this was a bit disconcerting, which is why I didn’t rate the atmosphere with five stars. Because the restroom is less than easy to access, I wasn’t able to wash the Pizza off of my hands after having eaten it with my fingers, so I’m glad that I had wet wipes in my car. For this and the cigar smoke reasons I rated the atmosphere is four stars. Overall, the pizza is absolutely fantastic tasting. The next time, I will take it home with me, where I can use a fork and a knife to eat it, wash my hands in my own bathroom, and sit in front of the TV and enjoy the magnificent taste of this outrageous pizza!

5 /5 Wendi the Wanderer: A must try place just outside the Oak! We loved the pizza, salad, gelato, and espresso. The crust is fantastic and the ingredients are of high quality. Customers are not required to be members of the Oak to eat outside and online ordering is available for dine in take away. We look forward to trying the sandwiches soon!

5 /5 Hoss Pratt: Volterra is hands down the best pizza in Boerne. The crust is out of this world — light, crispy on the outside, soft and chewy in the middle, with that perfect wood-fired flavor you can’t fake. I’ve got a gluten sensitivity and usually regret pizza, but not here. No issues at all, which tells me they’re using clean ingredients and doing things the right way. The sauce tastes like real tomatoes, not the canned or over-seasoned stuff. The cheese blend is spot-on — rich but not greasy. Everything about it feels balanced and intentional. But what really stood out was the staff. Every single person was friendly, genuine, and made me feel like I’d been coming there for years. You can tell they actually enjoy what they do — there’s an energy about the place that’s just different. And the gelato… incredible. Smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s the perfect finish. I’m already planning to come back tomorrow. Boerne’s got a gem here.
