Sky Island Taproom - (Near Fort Davis, TX)

2 /5 William Adams: Has potential but here is the experience so far. My first order was for chicken strips. When I asked for ketchup the guy said “what do you want us to make it again?!” Confusing needless to say but when I got home I saw the chicken was burnt to a crisp. Of course they were closed by then, big surprise. Next I ordered a pizza it was great. So I bragged about how good it was and my friend decided to try one. We ordered it and of course when we got home we discovered this pizza had been dropped on its side by the bar tender resulting in a mush of pizza ingredients. Of course they were closed. I decide to give them another chance, pizza. Hard to mess that up…again. Well it was not cooked. You can tell they turned the oven off early then got my order, turned it back on but at a higher temp and thus resulting in a sub par pizza. This place has potential but the fact they don’t care about the quality of their food pushes potential return customers away. Yes I’m local. So they aren’t taking care of their locals on to go orders. Try harder please. I tip every time. As for atmosphere, if you’re into extremely loud dining rooms where you have to yell to be heard, this is the place for you.

1 /5 Art Rome: Went to Fort Davis 12/05/25, arrived around 7:00pm and they were closing when supoused to close at 9.00pm. The following day 12/06/25we went for lunch and just walking into the restaurant, it felt like a "bad vibe", at the bar a couple stared at us and quickly begun to gossip and laugh. At another table a family begun to argue and yell each other and their daughter walked out the restaurant then another couple at the corner stared at my wife and also begun to laugh between themselves, then the woman go out the restaurant then came back. The waiters were nice but unfortunately they did not have what the menú offer, no hamburgers, no bbq sandwiches but only chicken. We asked where esle could we have hamburgers and they practically said that every where was close including across street .... but happened to be that across street it was OPENED and they had the Most Delicious Hamburgers. So we are very disappointed of The Sky Island Taproom because we were recommended to go there. Sad, bad experience there.

5 /5 Carina Nunez: We absolutely loved this place! We had their special which was a brisket with Ribs plate with 2 sides which we picked mash potatoes and pinto beans which were both excellent the plate also came with some bbq sauce which was very delish. Chips and queso were excellent!! Fried pickles my oh my we loved them!! I ordered several mixed drinks on their menu and they did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the environment was great. They even allowed me to go to one of their rooms in the restaurant where they have a TV and some couches and I did a little bit of karaoke Nothing too crazy, but we all honestly had a great time!! We will definitely Be coming back!!

5 /5 Beth Bready: Had a very enjoyable dinner at the Sky Island Taproom. Ordered the double pepperoni hot honey pizza, which was perfect for two. The thin crust was done well and the ingredients on top were well portioned. The prickly pear sangria and the mai tai were very good drinks. The chocolate buttermilk pie for dessert was delicious. The staff were busy but very friendly. Got to meet the chef and the owner. Wishing continued success to this place in Fort Davis!!

5 /5 Ila England: Sky Island Taproom offers traditional grill type items like hamburgers and pizza but we ordered one of the signature pasta dishes which were excellent with sauces made from scratch.. Nothing from a jar here. Staff was friendly and hard working. We even met the chef. All in all this was an excellent experience.
