Pure Country BBQ & Grill - Boerne

Rating: 3.9 /5
Brendan Alvarado Pure Country BBQ & Grill is a fantastic spot for anyone craving real, down-home barbecue. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a true country-style vibe that makes you feel right at home. The BBQ is outstanding—tender, smoky, and full of flavor. From brisket and ribs to pulled pork and classic sides, everything is cooked to perfection and served in generous portions. The sauces complement the meats perfectly without overpowering them.

Casazul Texas – Casa Azul Modern Mexican Restaurant in Laredo, TX - Laredo

Rating: 4.9 /5
Sandra Balido Casa Azul has officially become one of my favorite gourmet Mexican dining experiences in Laredo. The attention to detail, creativity, and depth of flavor in every dish was truly outstanding. We started with the aguachile de pulpo, and it was phenomenal — perfectly tender octopus with a bright, fresh kick, elevated even more by their salsa tatemada, which added an incredible smoky richness. It set the tone for an amazing meal. The short ribs with jamaica and popcorn flowers were unforgettable. Fall-apart tender, beautifully balanced, and plated with care. But the surprise standout was the queso panela with black salsa — tangy, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. The toasted leeks on top added the perfect texture and flavor contrast. And the jocoque with charred beets… simply to die for. Creamy, bold, and full of character — one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Casa Azul delivers thoughtful, elevated Mexican cuisine with flavors that feel both inventive and deeply rooted. If you’re looking for a place in Laredo that goes above and beyond traditional dishes and delivers a true gourmet experience, this is it. Highly recommend — can’t wait to go back.

Jimador Restaurant Bar and Grill - Spring

Rating: 4.7 /5
Jose Hernandez El Jimador did not disappoint. I got the Tampiquena, fajita was a thick cut piece and very tender rice and beans were great! Wife got the Chicken w/cilantro and jalapeño. Big chicken breast and charros were on point! Most importantly, the portions were generous and very reasonably priced. WE WILL BACK!

Fruteria La Chiquis - Kaufman

Rating: 4.4 /5
Noemi Lopez Stumbled upon this little mom-and-pop spot on my way to Dallas, and I’m so glad I did! The dorilocos and Mexican goodies were delicious. The place is clean, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the girls working there are super friendly. You can really feel the love they put into everything. I’ll definitely be coming back—and bringing friends. Highly recommend!

Snappys Roadhouse - Anahuac

Kaylah Little Very friendly staff and the occasional live band nights are nice and very entertaining. The food has been excellent every time I have been here. They even have a after hours menu that you can choose from after the grill is closed.

Santanas Mexican Restaurant - Alpine

Rating: 4.5 /5
Wa wa West Texas This is Alpine’s hole in the wall must-stop must-eat. It’s a family business and they’re super sweet. The portions are generous. The strawberry cream cup is full of strawberries, sprinkled with granola, super yummy. Fresh and authentic.
