5 /5 Jonathan Schalchlin: Texas Prime BBQ is an absolute gem in small-town Texas! From the moment we walked in, the place was spotless and impeccably organized. The staff made us feel right at home, especially the owner, Rick, who was as welcoming as they come.
The food was out of this world. We started with the stuffed jalapeños—these things are Texas-sized bites of Heaven! Imagine a homemade cream cheese concoction wrapped in perfectly crispy bacon. It’s like a Texas version of a Twinkie, but better!
The brisket was incredibly moist, and the sausage? Juiciest I’ve ever had. The spicy barbecue sauce had just the right kick, complementing everything perfectly. And don’t get me started on the sides—the cowboy-style beans were full of flavor, and the green beans were so juicy and fresh.
A special shoutout to the pit master, David, who took us on a tour of the pit. It was fascinating to see where the magic happens.
We capped off the meal with some homemade banana pudding, and it was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.
