3 /5 Kirsten Stayton: Please read this in its entirety. I have eaten here multiple times a week for almost a year. It has become a joke amongst my co-workers and family because they always know where im going for lunch. Most days i order the Choose Two with a poblano soup and a different sandwich each day. However, a few weeks ago I was handed a small soup after ordering a super bowl. I kindly reminded the cashier at the window that it was a super bowl. She quickly came back with the right size. When I returned to my office and let my soup cool off, I noticed after a few spoonfuls that there were extra ingredients in that bowl. There was a broken potato chip and a pickle slice in the soup. I have had this soup a million times and never had this problem. I simply scooped them out and wrote it off as a fluke. Over the next few weeks, the paninis stopped being toasted completely leaving the cheese on the 3 cheese panini unmelted. Again, I wrote it off thinking maybe their panini press was acting up. But today, my 3 cheese panini also had mold on it. I thought that it could be flour. My co-workers and I examined it and then I eventually called a relative that makes bread for a living as a baker. She confirmed it was mold. I attempted to call the store close to 10 times to warn them so that it was not served to others. I did not get an answer. I drove back to the restaurant to speak with the manager who told me that he knew it was flour. I advised him that I had confirmed with a baker that this was mold. He remained unfazed and acted like I was some dumb blonde that cant tell flour from mold. I also advised him that i had tried to call multiple times prior to showing up. He advised that they were "slammed". Please note that when i arrived, there were employees leaned over opposite sides of the counter on phones and talking to each other. The dining area, which is small in size, did not even look half full. The manager began tapping the Square kiosk. I told him that I didnt want a refund and only wanted to make him aware so that it wasnt served to others. He asked for my name so they could give me one on the house the next time I came through. Although I appreciate the effort to make sure I got my moneys worth, the condescending manner in which I was spoken to is the reason I told him that it was unnecessary because I wouldnt be coming back. I have recommended this restaurant to SO many people, but I cannot continue to do that. Accountability and transparency is very important when running a business. Especially the restaurant business. I am very sad knowing that I wont be enjoying my poblano soup moving forward but I am a stickler for professionalism and the lack there of is the reason I wont be returning.
