The Hangout - Angleton

Rating: 4.4 /5
Angelina Perez Stopped in with the fam during a 4 hour break at a softball tourney and wow. The Hangout was a hit! We crushed 10 lbs of crawfish, snow crab, shrimp, and all the fixings. Flavor was bold, zesty, and totally Cajun. Prices were great and the vibe was on point. Can’t wait to come back!

Velvet Lounge - Fredericksburg

Rating: 3.8 /5
Phillip Pryor For a fun time on a Friday or Saturday night the Velvet Lounge is a great place. The staff here is awesome and most can sing very well. The best is just listening and watching people do karaoke. Advice here is get there early to get a seat or reserve or a table. It gets packed.

Casazul Texas – Casa Azul Modern Mexican Restaurant in Laredo, TX - Laredo

Rating: 4.9 /5
Sandra Balido Casa Azul has officially become one of my favorite gourmet Mexican dining experiences in Laredo. The attention to detail, creativity, and depth of flavor in every dish was truly outstanding. We started with the aguachile de pulpo, and it was phenomenal — perfectly tender octopus with a bright, fresh kick, elevated even more by their salsa tatemada, which added an incredible smoky richness. It set the tone for an amazing meal. The short ribs with jamaica and popcorn flowers were unforgettable. Fall-apart tender, beautifully balanced, and plated with care. But the surprise standout was the queso panela with black salsa — tangy, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. The toasted leeks on top added the perfect texture and flavor contrast. And the jocoque with charred beets… simply to die for. Creamy, bold, and full of character — one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Casa Azul delivers thoughtful, elevated Mexican cuisine with flavors that feel both inventive and deeply rooted. If you’re looking for a place in Laredo that goes above and beyond traditional dishes and delivers a true gourmet experience, this is it. Highly recommend — can’t wait to go back.
