Kristin Hayes My husband and I stopped in for a quick brunch as we had a busy day planned. We left full and not disappointed. The Chilaquiles with chicken was the best thing I have eaten here in San Antonio. I also recommend trying their specialty coffee. Will definitely be returning!

DeVere Kutscher Definitely a step above the surrounding options. The inner courtyard is lively and has an atmosphere reminiscent of LA or Miami. The service was very friendly, personal, and attentive. The menu takes classic items and injects them with a surprising creativity, perfect freshness, and big, bold flavors. Omelets, French Toast and burgers are superb, as are the fresh-squeezed juices. Excellent cocktail choices too!

Petrisor Bodea We got hungry and were just driving to our local favorite lunch place when wr passed this place. Turned around and were glad we did. Although expensive ($18 for a Smashed Burger and fries) portion is huge, enough for 2 people. Fries amd the Quesadilla were perfect as well. Well visit again.

Guac Star We recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at J. Alexander’s, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a special occasion, but still relaxed enough to feel comfortable. From the moment we were seated, the staff made us feel valued and truly went above and beyond to make the evening special. For dinner, I ordered the New York Strip steak, and it was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My wife had the crab cakes, which were perfectly seasoned, crisp on the outside, and loaded with fresh crab on the inside. We also enjoyed a fresh, crisp salad that was simple but elevated, a great complement to the main dishes. Everything was served hot and beautifully plated, with clear attention to detail. The biggest surprise of the night came at the end when the staff brought out a slice of their famous carrot cake — on the house — to help us celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was hands down one of the best desserts I’ve ever had: moist, rich, and generously layered with frosting. That thoughtful touch truly made the night memorable. J. Alexander’s combines outstanding food with exceptional service, making it a go-to for both everyday dining and life’s biggest celebrations. Highly recommend! Alexis was a great server.

Sherman On Came in a Sunday morning very busy however able to get a seat for our 11 people group for outside pretty much immediately server was Abby parentheses I think) and she did great at accommodating us and checking in on us. Food came out fast and delicious from omelettes to waffles to pancakes, the bagels, the smoked salmon, bacon sausage everything tasted delicious. It’s about a $15-$25 entrée per person so not the cheapest experience however a great experience very inviting atmosphere. That definitely has that diner deli field of New York. Great foods large parking lot would highly recommend. Look forward to going back when I’m back in San Antonio.

Wes Watson Pretty great steak place for a chain. Visiting from oot so thought it would be good. Great location to boot!! Staff was on point and helpful. Food was delicious and plentiful. Not the most expensive place on the river walk - but not cheap. Steaks were outstanding and the sirloin was delicious as was the ribeye. Probably one of the better sirloins I’ve tasted!! The Texas poppers - with shrimp were huge!! The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious!! Would def go again.

Mark Muniz Today a friend and I visited Nonnas for lunch, this was my 2nd time here. The food was fresh and delicious, we ordered the special which was the chicken Alfredo and also pepperoni pizza on the side. Both items came out hot and made to order with generous portions. The customer service was fantastic, we always get greeted and welcomed with ample service. The price of the menu items are very affordable compared to other bigger Italian chains. This family owned establishment is definitely a new favorite for Italian! Thank you so much for the delicious food, and wonderful service!

Just The food here was simply fantastic! The potato pancakes were flavorful and the apple sauce that came with them was not Motts lol it was legit fresh ground/grated apples. The pastrami Reuben was incredible and the dressing served with it put it over the top. Dont forget about a root beer! Service was fast and friendly, Ill be back! I highly recommend passing up all the tex-mex on the river walk and coming here!

Sedelia Cordero My family and I ate here for dinner on a Friday night. We were happy to be able to get in around 8 o’clock with a reservation made approximately an hour and a half before. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, Jalapeño, cornbread and chili as an appetizer. The brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious! They had the right amount of sweetness, along with a savory flavor. The jalapeño cornbread was served in a massive Texas cast-iron dish. They also gave us honey, butter, and pimento cheese to go with the cornbread. We really liked the chili, it was common Texas chili… No beans :) For dinner my son had the kids smash burger with mixed fruit, I had the Caesar salad with steak and my husband had the Scallops with corn risotto. My son devoured the smash burger and the fruit was very fresh! My husband said that the scallops were cooked to perfection and he loved the risotto and said that the flavor was on point. My salad was really good! Also, my steak was a perfect medium cook! For dessert my son’s kids meal came with a free dessert so he got a scoop of ice cream. I ordered the key lime crème brûlée. I am so upset that I did not take a picture of the crème brûlée, because it was so beautiful, but the picture does no justice to the taste! That is by far the best crème brûlée I have ever had! Because it was my husband‘s birthday, he got a free dessert and they gave him two cupcakes with a chocolate “ Happy birthday” piece in the middle. The atmosphere in this restaurant was great for a perfect quiet night out. We had had a long day and we’re happy that this restaurant was not super loud. They even had a live performer there, but it did not overtake the sound in the restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding! I feel bad that I cannot remember his name right now, but not only the server, but the older gentleman who was bringing out our food was also very courteous! We also got some good drinks to go with our meal, the bartender there was great!

David Jones My Family and I decided to go hear again because the service is always great and the food is always fresh. We went around opening this time and so our expectations were high for the quality of our food. Just like last time, Kona Grill did a great job. If you’re looking for a nice spot inside La Cantera to eat some good food, I recommend this place. It is a little pricey but so is majority of the stuff around here.

L J Conley Dont come here if you want bland food lol. They did not disappoint at all. Presentation, portions, service were all great. Took my family during the weekend so some items i was unable to enjoy due to them being on the weekdays, but shrimp & grits, selection french toast, and white fish breakfast plate were all very delicious. We also selected their passion fruit and blueberry lemonade. Both were sweet. Inside decor, very clean chill vibe with good R&B hits playing. We arrived right around 10, right before the slam so no wait for us! I would recommend their waiting area be rearranged for those to sit and wait and consider adding dark meat to their chicken and waffles menu. Our server was attentive and pleasant as well. Great place for any occasion.

Mel Johnson I’ve been to several different Yard House locations and their food and service has always been consistently great. We dined at the Rivercenter location recently and had an amazing experience. We were greeted by the hostess staff and they were all so friendly. Brittany was our server and she was so attentive and helpful. The restaurant was packed but we were seated quickly and our food came out quickly also. All of our dishes were so fresh and flavorful. Definitely recommend if you are downtown and looking for a great meal.

Tackleberg Amazing experience! The views are gorgeous, the food and drinks top it off. Roy was our server and took great care of us. He was also our local historian. We asked him about some of the buildings in the area and he gave us the whole history of them and the area. He really took our experience to another level. We cant wait to come back.

Gerry E First time going to Toro for dinner with friends and family. We made reservations as the place apparently can get really busy. And we were so happy we did. The vibe of the place is more like classy but laid back. We were seated right away. Our server (Im so sorry I forgot his name) was really so good. He explained everything we needed to know about the offerings they had and answered our questions with a nice cheery attitude that shows he really loved what he does. We ordered a few tapas and 2 kinds of paella, a few cocktails, and a pitcher of white sangria. Everything was so good. I really will go back to try the rest of their menu items
