Evelyn Cataquet-Cruz This place was recommended by a friend and we went all the way from Dallas,TX to Temple, TX and it worth the trip. The friendly and very professional staff is a plus, our waitress know very well the menu and the specials for the day and answered all questions, the food was AMAZING, the garlic parmesan bread was delicious, the brick oven pizza that my husband had was off the chain, and the pasta it was delicious. Then came the dessert, the tiramisu and the bread pudding with ice-cream JESUSSSSS!!!, that was sinfully good.

Craig Bounous Out of all the MasFajitas locations I have been to, this one is probably the best. They are all good, but this one shines. Maybe its because it shares its location with an amazing seafood place, Marios Seafood, but everything from the food and service, to the atmosphere and cleanliness of the place screams classy establishment, one that you can tell is run by people who take pride in their food.

5.The Parlour

Address: 8 W Avenue B, Temple, TX 76504

Lori Taylor This was the best bar experience I’ve had in the area in a long time. The vibe is incredibly unique—imagine a gothic, bar-themed twist on Cracker Barrel. It sounds unusual, but you really have to visit to understand it. The atmosphere has a speakeasy/burlesque feel, and the seating is wonderfully cozy. The Spicy Mexican Cocktail is hands-down the best version of that drink I’ve ever tried. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable, not only crafting an amazing cocktail but also making the whole preparation feel like part of the experience. One of the coolest aspects of this place—beyond the overall vibe—is the way it’s split into two distinct sections. The front bar area is relaxed and chill, while the back area is more lively with a pool table and a small dance floor. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for something memorable.

LJ Great small non chain type of bar, light music venue. Went there after work, staff were all super friendly and remembered your name from leaving the tab open. Good selection of spirits, beer, cocktails and coffee both alcohol or non alcohol options. Seating inside or outside, a couple of machines of chance, but the cool thing is the various live music options that go there makes for a pleasant atmosphere. They also have different food trucks come as well. Very cozy and eclectic.

7.La Dalat Vietnamese Cuisine

Edward Doan La Dalat, located in downtown Temple, is a fantastic spot for authentic and fresh Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant has a trendy, laid-back atmosphere that makes for a great dining experience. The highlight of my meal was the bún chả cá (fishcake noodle soup)—it was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, and all the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. While I highly recommend the noodle soup, they are also well-known for their excellent phở, bánh mì sandwiches, and crispy imperial rolls. The service was friendly and attentive, making it an all-around wonderful visit. Ill definitely be back!

diablo verde Food was delicious! It came out quickly, restaurant was cute. I liked how the light fixtures looked like upside-down ramen bowls. Everything was clean, and the staff was super friendly. Had the drunken Ramen with pork and a Thai tea. Ramen had a nice kick and the veggies were refreshing and still had a nice crunch to them. The tea was nice and not too sweet

Josh Biddly If I could give them 6 stars I would. I meet my mom for lunch and I havent been to a Cracker Barrel in several years. There was about a ten minute wait for the table witch I thought was fine. Great thing about Cracker Barrel is the environment both on the patio, in the waiting area and the dinning area. The waiting area is loaded with all kinds of excellent gifts and random things that just about anybody would love. Candles, t-shirts, Post cards, jewelry, keychains, toys, candy, specialty sodas. Just about everything is 25%-70% off witch I think is awesome. Ill be going back on payday to get several things myself. Then we were shown our table and the service was way over the top. Ive been to streak houses and fine restaurants that didnt have this kind of service. My waiter was Zachary. Guy went above and beyond and I had a phenomenal experience. I ordered the NY Strip Steak with loaded Backed potato and broccoli and the Fried Mozzarella cheese bites with ranch. Really really good! They served their buttermilk biscuits and cornbread muffins. With blackberry jam and salted butter. That was really awesome and very tasty. The steak was really phenomenal. The loaded potato surprised my expectations. Bacon strips, not bits. Scoop of sour cream and a scoop of butter. I ate the whole thing, peel and all. Zachary was the kind of cordial and overly attentive and polite that you expected from multi diamond hotel and restaurant staff. I was amazed and very impressed. So much so I had to ask to see the manager. Rair for me to do that with service. Waited less than 2 minutes and I spoke with Little Cindy. Apparently there are two Cindys. She was very kind and very encouraging. She said they strive to deliver just such experiences to everyone. I not only believe that, I know it and it shows in every facit of their restaurant. The bill was $50 for two with an appetizer and two drinks. Their tea is also really good. Im blown away and sold. The area offers Chilies, IHOP, Olive garden and Cracker Barrel. Its not even a competition in my honest opinion. The other places are not even on the same level in anything, let alone everything. I had the best dinning experience in years for far less than a $100. Thats very rare in my experience. Would absolutely recommend to everybody. Im definitely going back and soon!

12.Wess Burger Shack

B O I work around the state and one of the joy’s of the job is picking where to eat lunch in whatever town we are in. After finishing a project and on the way out of town today we were stopped at the light and noticed the sign at Wes’s and a busy parking lot, after the normal rush time. “That’s a good sign” we said and pulled in. We were greeted by the waitress as we opened the door and told to pick a seat. Though very busy the few open tables were perfectly cleaned and ready. The atmosphere of a well run local gem was evident, by the time we were seated we were asked for drinks and given menus, and my native Wisconsinite heart immediately warmed by the sight of a fried cheese curd appetizer. Now twenty years in Texas , I’ve been offered “cheese curds” here just enough times before to not get too excited. But when they brought out a bottle of ranch and then garlic butter(!) with the generously portioned basket I knew Wes’s had risen above. Best fried cheese curds I’ve had outside of Wisconsin and better than many of what you can find back in the cheese state. Then out came the cheeseburgers, I’d ordered a double with bacon and all the fixins, and my partner a single, and each was massive and delicious. My work partner is an old hat who loves to be a burger snob and after a few bites proclaimed he may make the hour drive north from Austin just to eat there again, and I agreed. He compared it to our favorites back in Austin and declared that for the price, Wes just may have beaten them. We’re hungry men and neither of us could complete our meal without taking portions home, which the waitress was happy to oblige and also transfer our drinks to take away cups and refilled. Before we stood from our table we were visited and thanked by Mr. Wes who went on to work the room and all his regulars like the Don of burgers he clearly is. My only regrets are not eating there every day we were working in Temple, and spending too much time ranting and raving at the table about how great everything was that we didn’t notice all the Special staff he had bussing tables and backing up the great waitress u til we had signed the check and were heading to the door. If ever there is a place to tip 100% this is it and I will the many “next times” after experiencing what I did today.

Shawn Hand My wife and I enjoyed hanging out at the bar on a Saturday night while checking out downtown Temple nightlife. It’s a great bar with a decent assortment of beers on tap. We were especially happy to find Smithwick’s on tap. The bartenders - Shelby and Skyla (I apologize if I misspelled!) were great. They gave us lots of info on the bar and Temple in general. The live entertainment that night - James Stone was also very good!
