4 /5 BK Yowsers: We chose this spot to meet a friend from up north and wanted somewhere walkable. The location brought back memories—bittersweet, but meaningful. We didn’t realize it was their Sunday brunch menu, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise: not crowded, mostly an older crowd, and very relaxing with views of the bay, boats, and fishing activity.
The staff was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and even entertained my son. He ordered a $2 milk, which counted as a kids’ meal and came with plenty of muffins.
I stuck with my usual fish and chips. The slaw was forgettable, but the fish was hot, crispy, and not overly fishy. Not my top pick, but still enjoyable. Overall, the brunch experience was lovely, and I’d definitely consider bringing the family back for the great service and peaceful ambiance.
Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience.
5 stars – Exceptional: Outstanding food, service, and/or overall experience. Truly worth going out of your way for. (For example, we frequently make the drive from San Antonio to Austin just for Uchi.)
4 stars – Very Good: Exceeds expectations in quality, service, or ambiance.
3 stars – Good: A solid experience that meets expectations. I consider any place with 3 stars or above worthy of a return visit.
2 stars – Disappointing: Falls short in food quality or service.
1 star – Poor: Not recommended.
