Woods Creek Café - Jamestown

Rating: 4.7 /5
Gregory Schwartz New favorite breakfast, if only it wasnt hours from home. Amazing service, fun decor, and really interesting menu items like the Breakfast Bowl and Tamale Omelet! Gravy was standout, as were the ranch potatoes.

Zen Toro Japanese Bistro - Davis

Rating: 4.4 /5
Kenneth Zen Toro in Davis is hands down one of the best Japanese spots in town. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and calm --the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good food, and never feel rushed. The fish is always fresh and the rolls are beautifully made. You can tell they put care into every dish they send out. Their specialty rolls are amazing, but even the basics are done well -- the miso, tempura, and sashimi all hit the spot. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the meal always feels satisfying from start to finish. Service is friendly and attentive without being pushy, which just adds to the overall experience. Whether youre in the mood for sushi, udon, or a comforting combo plate, Zen Toro delivers every time. Highly recommended - definitely a 5-star spot in Davis!!

California Fish Grill - San Mateo

Rating: 4.3 /5
Jeff Ho We came for lunch at 11am. It was a nice day and we ate at their outside patio. The food came out fairly fast. Thats a good thing for people that need to punch in/out on their time cards. We had a clam chowder $8, shrimp avocado salad $14, salmon power bowl $13 and a side of Mexican street corn $5. No complaints. The food was fresh and delicious. Service is as expected for a order at the counter restaurant. Good job staff at Fish Grill.

Sonder - Bakersfield

Rating: 4.2 /5
Tony Sonder delivers on every level. I came here for brunch with colleagues, and between the welcoming service and health-conscious menu, it impressed us all. The food is as flavorful as it is beautifully plated — from crisp, fresh salads and vibrant bowls to shareable bites like fried tofu and buffalo cauliflower. Even the cocktails are crafted with care and balance. The atmosphere ties it all together: modern, inviting, and detailed with touches like their glowing “Good Choices” wall that make the space memorable. With accommodating hospitality, creative dishes, and a vibe that feels both relaxed and refined, Sonder has earned a place on my return list. Highly recommended.

Cècile Trattoria - Glendale

Rating: 4.3 /5
J C Wanted to do Italian so we found one in the alley near the Glendale Marketplace. We just decided to hop in for a light lunch and we were surprised! We really enjoyed everything and tuna tartare really did it for us. Amazing flavors and we’d get this again in a heartbeat. Shrimp scampi was flavorful with thicker pasta than I’ve had before but man I could eat two portions of this! Burrata salad was good too, but we did expect regular tomato slices rather than the cherry tomatoes, slightly disappointed but does not matter. Served was attentive and kind. I highly recommend for a light lunch! Don’t know why the place was so empty on a weekend!

Tang Jip - Concord

Rating: 4.3 /5
Liann Amagan One of my favorite Korean restaurants in the Bay Area located in Concord. I feel like it’s more traditional and you’ll see older Koreans eating dinner or lunch here for their dishes other than kbbq or galbijim. I personally like their Banchan, I feel like it’s more fresh and authentic than lots of other places. I like their tofu soup and LA Galbi. They also have the cold buckwheat noodle soup (mul nangmyeon), bossam, kimchi pancakes, and your traditional bbq chickens, beef, fish, rice and various soups. Lots of people like to get their galbijim and add cheese that they torch, I would prob add in more add ons if you want variety but the meat falls off the bone. They get busy here and have Tv screens that play Korean music videos. Parking is steady as it is located in a shopping plaza. The workers work very hard and service is very hospitable!
