White Caps Bistro - Goleta

Rating: 4 /5
Don Lubach Fun fact. This interesting restaurant is in the same complex where Howard Hughes once had an office. It has been open to the public for breakfast and lunch for some years, but the White Caps folks have made it much more welcoming. Today, I had their Torta (on special with a drink) and loved every bite. They opened the side entrance and they have a lot of outside seating. Staff was very friendly. Parking looks easy for cars and it was just fine for my bicycle. If you want a VERY original place to go for breakfast or lunch, this is it.

Beni’s California Cuisine - Anderson

William Evanusich So this place was amazing. First off it is a family ran business. Our server and host Porter was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He even found out if their aioli sauce had soy in it, returning saying it was the 5th ingredient. A real smart human being and not a corporate robot! Nice! Anyways, the places ambiance in so outstanding and clean. I feel like I am back in Europe actually. Even a trucker from the bay area (who agreed to be in my post) is a returning customer. I had their burger, which I like to think I am a coinsurer of. It was amazing! Made with "real" beef. The kid had the chicken sandwich and he really loved his Mango juice. He said it was the "real deal". Porters Aunt was in the back cooking, and his Dad Benji was on a break when we came in. This place is VERY well ran, and they take pride in the entire place and it shows! Although this place is a little spendy, I think it is worth it if you are looking for a good alternative to the modern day diner. I actually liken the food very similar to The Hearth. I even liked the music they had playing in the background, it was instrumental and reminded me of cafes in Paris. I look forward to returning and having something else. I will try the brisket sandwich that I did NOT notice, but the kid said it was on the menu. Until then, I cannot recommend this place any stronger than to maybe give you a direct order to try in next week or you are no longer a US citizen! LOL.

Alina T Cute little coffee shop! Their coffee is great with some fun specials, I like their honey latte and lavender latte. They have some baked goods and you can order food too- their mushroom pizza is amazing! Great spot to grab coffee with a friend!

Daniel Kraft Tri-tip is awesome. Little pricey but you are on a mountain! Seating is all outside, probably amazing during summer, little rough in October. But it’s a beautiful area so why not!

Fall River Brewing Co. Taphouse - Redding

Eric Lim Came here during our road trip to enjoy their selection of beers. Cozy relaxing atmosphere and super friendly staffs. Great selection of beers on the wall. Would be nice to make the list available thru a QR code. Otherwise this is a great stop and we stop by a second time during our limited stay in town. Highly recommended.

tacos al fuego - Watsonville

Glenn Reynolds Four of us dropped in for dinner and it exceeded expectations. This is small counter service Mexican. The tortillas are home made and worth the trip for them alone. In a region awash in mediocre Mexican this place becomes a shinning star. The shrimp taco was the best I have ever had. The sauces really kick the flavor up. We had a great meal and will be back.
