Nixtaco - Roseville
Sarah S I’m rarely in Roseville, so the first chance I had, I decided to grab tacos at Nixtaco. I totally understand the hype and Michelin recognition. They have a really diverse taco menu. Personally I love all sorts of savory, meaty tacos, but I love to be wowed by flavorful vegetarian options. I went with a combination taco so I could try a bit of the raja con queso as well as their shrimp mazatian. I had the short rib barbacoa and pork al pastor tacos as well. I think my favorite was the al pastor as it was perfect as is. I didn’t add any salsa for heat or flavor - although the flight of salsa and chips was delicious on its own.
The service deserves a standalone paragraph. I didn’t catch the hostess’s name but she greeted me quickly and told me about the happy hour specials as I was there at 3:30 on a Wednesday. My server’s name was Christina and she had great recommendations. She checked in moments after each item arrived. The food came out incredibly quickly while looking fresh and tasting great.
Thanks for the late lunch!
