5 /5 Pryor Nunn: Have to give a huge shout out to Sierra Mountaineering International! I had a Palisades Traverse trip booked for months with another guide company this summer and was very much looking forward to it. The day before my trip, that company called me and canceled. I was already half way there driving. To say the least I was devastated and assumed I wouldnt be able to do the trip. Luckily a guy at the other company knows Kurt Wedberg at SMI. Kurt was able to provide a guide, Tyler, ONE DAY BEFORE, so that I got to still do my trip! Unbelievable. Anyway, I had an awesome trip in the Palisades with Tyler. Hes one of the best climbing guides Ive ever had. I definitely recommend SMI and will use them again in the future for my guided trips. Thanks so much!

5 /5 Bryan Fisher: Did a one day, 1on1 Whitney Moutaineers Route summit with Kurt on 7/18/24 and it was literally one of the most memorable days of my life. Kurt is everything youd want in a guide and then some. Cannot recommend SMI enough and cannot wait to book my next adventure with SMI!

5 /5 Richard Gilpin: I used Sierra Mountaineering International to summit Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer’s Route and it was a great experience. I started this endeavor in September of 2024 by communicating with the owner Kurt. Given this was level of activity was new to me, I was out of my comfort zone and Kurt took a lot of time over the course of the past 6 months to answer questions that I had via email and made me very comfortable about what we were doing. Kurt gave me information on conditioning and made suggestions for trails I could do in California to help with conditioning. The trip, which included my 18 year old son, was well planned and our assigned guide, Trevor, was awesome. Following Kurt’s advice left me well conditioned for the activity and Trevor’s expertise allowed for two relative novices to safely make it to the summit and back. I felt they really cared about given us every opportunity for a successful experience and I would recommend them to anyone. I look forward to doing business with them again.

5 /5 Margaret Krebs: Through SMI, we were able to hire a porter, Brandon, to help us carry our gear to Piute Lake and back to our car on the last day. We had a 65 year age range (12 to 77) and Brandon was fabulous. He knew just when we might need help, found us a perfect campsite for 5 tents, and loved the idea of an extended family backpacking trip. We couldnt have done it without him.

5 /5 Derrick Darnsteadt: Earlier this August I had a great trip out to climb the East Buttress of Mt. Whitney with Tyler from SMI. Great guide, great weather, great climb. Met with Jo as well who was also quite cool. If I can get my wife to agree on a future adventure, Ill see if both of them are available to help us up the next mountain. Nothing but good things to say about Tyler and the whole SMI experience. Thanks again.
