Evan Went there for dinner and had a great experience. We made the reservation a few weeks in advance and sat inside. Really broad range of menu items and would highly recommend any of the items tossed in the cheese wheel. Very nice drink and appetizer selection as well.

Sharon We stopped by Amador County’s Shenandoah Valley to pick up our wines and were delighted to stumble upon The Taste — such a wonderful surprise! Chef Micha welcomed us with warmth and shared locally foraged end-of-season boletes — firm, rich with umami, and absolutely unforgettable. The venison, perfectly cooked and paired with chanterelles, was autumn on a plate. And the fig cream pie — with silky vanilla pudding, fresh figs, candied pecans, and fig purée — was the perfect sweet finale. Every detail reflected care, creativity, and the beauty of the season.

Alex Really enjoyed this place during my stay in Palo Alto, visited multiple times. Great steak, just ask for sauce on the side, it overpowers the meat a little. Fantastic choice if whiskies, including Springbank Cask Strength.

Yigal Zibari I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Upper West! I visited last week to celebrate a friends birthday, and we came as a large group—about 15 of us. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were not only incredibly friendly but also impressively knowledgeable, accommodating and flexible. . Its clear they take pride in what they serve. I ordered the Veggie Burger and it was hands down the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. It even came with house-made ketchup that took it to another level. Every bite was pure satisfaction. chef’s kiss To complement it, I had the Strawberry Fields cocktail. Refreshing, just the right amount of sweet, and tasted just as amazing as it looked. One of the highlights? Our server surprised us with a generous tray featuring every dessert on the menu— ON THE HOUSE!!! Talk about next-level hospitality! I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly, highly recommend!

Sasha Davila One of my favorite places to come eat and enjoy the view of the lake. Love the large bar area where you can just walk in 1st come 1st served and the fire place with live music occasionally throughout the year. I love coming for fish taco Fridays in the winter where they do a raffle every hour when you buy a drink or fish taco around 6-9ish. They post events on insta and online. I love their food and especially the deviled eggs, pomegranate ribs, soups, salads with salmon added, bacon burger, and salmon plates. I always bring anyone visiting me here for the ambience and service. Reservation recommended during peak season.
