Empress Tavern - Sacramento

Chris Maschal Enjoyed our visit tonight. When we arrived early, as they were opening, we were greeted with enthusiasm. As the evening got busy, it became harder and harder to get a round of drinks. Orders for food and drinks are placed at the bar. Im not a fan. If this doesnt bother you, its a pretty cool place. The quality of the food is good as far as bar food goes. The drinks are great! I will return. I do prefer full table service, but I understand the need to adapt to survive in the restaurant business.

Manhattan Steakhouse & Bar - Fresno

Granum Lance (TheDudeRN) Hidden in the middle of a strip mall, a bit of Class A, a bit of Elegance, a bit of upscale. The prices reflect the upscale atmosphere, but not to the extreme that some might expect. Some things are expensive, while others are not. You can have a great dinner, and depending on how hungry you are, you will have an excellent meal for the price. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the accompanying vegetables were also excellent. The baked potato was the best Ive had in a long time. The layout for the baked potato was done in a classy, individual serving style. Our party had a great time. We were not pressured or overindulged by the wait staff, and the waitress was excellent. This is the best dining experience Ive had in Fresno in years. Although it is at the upper end of my affordability scale, I will put it on my list of two to three times a year. And try to get back there for a special event, maybe a quiet dinner with just someone special. I did not break out the camera for much in the way of food or photos. I will review that on the next trip. This was really just about the experience and the company. The company was great. The friends enjoyed the meal, and we all had a good time. A party of four, our seating time in the booth was about 2 hours. The dinner check was over $200 for four people, but thats not too bad considering some of them had cocktails and some of us didnt. Guess who did not? Thats right, the 35 year long designated driver. One day at a time! I will be back, I guarantee it. Thank you for a fantastic night, Manhattan!35-year-long

Zara Baghikyan We went to Houston in Pasadena for a family dinner celebrating an exciting new journey. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent — very attentive and friendly. This was my second time dining here and it was just as good as the first time. Highly recommend for both special occasions and regular nights out. We all really enjoyed it!

Crystal Yang You cannot miss out this restaurant if you visit Pacific Grove. All dishes are well made. I especially recommend their scallops, lamb rack and rainbow trout . Also their desserts are Devine! I love the bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce with banana ice cream. The panna cotta and plum sorbet are also very delicious!

Jose Flores The mushrooms were extraordinary. The fish and the steak were great. They also make great mixed drinks if you ask for them. I would highly recommend this place. Dont pass on the mushrooms. They were so good I dont have pictures of them.

Juniper and Ivy - San Diego

Dawne Morris One of the best fine-dining experiences I’ve had in a long time, Michelin star restaurants included. I took my husband here for his 49th birthday, and Juniper and Ivy exceeded every expectation. Every dish just kept getting better, starting with an unforgettable amuse bouche and ending with an otherworldly dessert. The wagyu carpaccio was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and the wagyu sirloin and seafood pasta were flawless. Incredible service, thoughtful cocktails, and a beautiful industrial-chic space that feels warm and inviting. Highly recommend. Everyone should eat here at least once. We will be back!
