5 /5 Genta: Top of the Mark is an absolute must when in San Francisco. This iconic rooftop lounge has been around since 1939 and still holds all the charm, elegance, and history that made it famous in the first place. From the moment you step inside, the classic decor and sweeping views set the scene. You really feel like you are stepping into a timeless part of the city’s story.
The vibe is refined yet relaxed with soft lighting, live music on some nights, and a mix of locals and travelers soaking in the atmosphere. And the views are truly incredible. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay, the skyline, and even the Marin Headlands on a clear day. Whether you come at sunset or later in the evening, it is absolutely magical.
We ordered the tuna tartare and the steak and both were outstanding. The tuna was fresh and well balanced with great flavor, and the steak was tender and cooked just right. The cocktails were also a highlight. They were thoughtful, creative, and very well made.
Top of the Mark is not just a bar or a restaurant. It is a San Francisco institution that combines history, great food, and unforgettable views all in one place.
