Travis Wise This restaurant is definitely an unexpected surprise. For years, I had heard legends that this restaurant existed. But I never had a reason to go there until this year. I was amazed. More people should experienced this. I know at one point they had a Michelin star and then when they closed down that went away. I hope they get it back. It is definitely worthy. The neighborhood has a lot of character, but this restaurant is the Crown Jewel. Parking in the back of the restaurant was not difficult because we had an early reservation. The courses came out evenly and consistently, and were all presented extremely well. The staff were all very well trained and knew how to operate a fine dining establishment. The food was all delicious and fresh. Each course had unique flavors that were amazing. If youre looking for a fine dining establishment for a special occasion, this is it.

Crystal Yang You cannot miss out this restaurant if you visit Pacific Grove. All dishes are well made. I especially recommend their scallops, lamb rack and rainbow trout . Also their desserts are Devine! I love the bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce with banana ice cream. The panna cotta and plum sorbet are also very delicious!

Jennifer Hayes This has been my go-to lunch place for years! How can you top the lunch special where you choose from the fish, stew, or pasta that starts with a soup and ends with a dessert? Recently, I had a late lunch and had the restaurant to myself. It was magical. I highly recommend taking the time for yourself to treat yourself every now and again to some alone lunch time. So worth it. Especially here.

Rise Woodfire Pizza & Rotisserie - San Mateo

Monty Griswald Delicious pizza, good portion sizes, great atmosphere, and well staffed. Only can be loud sometimes due to the train. Usually easy parking. I love the mushroom pizza with honey and chicken parm.

Lunchdutylegend A Hidden gem in Santa Rosa! We stop here for dinner. I must say this place has outstanding service. The food was flavorful and delicious. We enjoyed Korean BBQ chicken, Smoked BBQ Ribs, Craft Man n Cheese, Everything spiced fries, Smokey Poke, and Smashed Cheese burger. For dessert we enjoyed the Whiskey balls, and sundae.

Matthew Kniskern 3 of us went for Christmas dinner and I was extremely happy with the entire experience. The restaurant is lively and beautiful. It isn’t your typical establishment with bright lights and a quiet environment. Music is playing, but even with my hearing issues, I didn’t find it overly loud. Our server was incredible from start to finish. He provided perfect recommendations and explanations of the menu. He was meticulous in ensuring that food allergies were attended to, confirming each order with the kitchen. The food was great, both in presentation and taste. We ordered the snapper, pork fried rice, cashew chicken, lobster wontons, salad, veggie dumplings, tofu, and bok choy. All the dishes were enjoyed and the only reason for leftovers was that the serving sizes are quite large!! We also got desserts, the matcha crème brûlée and carrot cake. Both were a great ending to a perfect meal. Many restaurants have desserts that feel like an afterthought but these were different. The perfect “exclamation point” to end our meal. Thanks for the food, the service, and a great experience.
