The Steak House - Rockmart

Rating: 4.6 /5
Nick LaPinta I want to start my review with atmosphere. From the second you pull into the spacious parking lot, youre greeted with a cozy barn with some string lights that is like a warm hug on your eyes. The Steak House itselfs exterior gives you small town hidden gem energy. You walk in and are greated by a very friendly lady. I am very heavily tattooed from face down. Im no stranger to disgusted or judgmental looks in small towns. But I was greated and conversed with like a local. Thats very much something I appreciate. The whole dining area was lit with a warm light, it was well decorated for the fall season and the staff was attentive and friendly. The bread rolls are amazing! The soft butter paired with the seasoning on the bread leaves you fighting to not eat it all and save room for food. And trust me, youll want to do that. We had an order of fried mushrooms to start. I know thats not everyones cup of tea, but theyre worth a go if you like mushrooms. Theyre paired with i believe it was a house ranch (I might be mistaken) and a 1000 island. Personally, I am not a ranch guy, but with the mushrooms, they went well together and both sauces had great flavor. Now for the meats. Listen... Ive paid from $10 to $100 for one cut of steak. This ribeye comes in under $40 (current pricing) and tops EVERY STEAK IVE MADE MYSELF AND ORDERED! Medium rare, perfectly seasoned, hearty, and great portions. Our hour drive home was slow and with the button on my pants undone. That was warranted because we decided to end our night with a deep fried cheesecake drizzled in raspberry sauce. This desert had a delightful presentation with gluttony fair food energy in the flavor. This whole meal was worth every heavy deep breath i took all the way home. I live an hour away. And i would drive even farther if i had to. If youre a foodie and are willing to travel for meat... do not sleep on The steak House. Kevin (the owner), his family and team have made a gem that shouldnt be hidden. To put this review simply. Based on atmosphere, taste, and value, The Steak House is a MUST GO place! Oh and last thing... THE CAJIN SAUCE!!!! its like a butter bas with cajin seasoning... that with the steak... BLISS!

The 4th Out - Blakely

Trey Enterprises Family friendly restaurant. I was passing through town and it was the only place open on Monday and it was good. I had the southwestern egg rolls and apple tart. Both were good. The front window is a nice view of the downtown square. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Full of locals and seems like a nice town.

James Tyler What can I say other than that we will be back. The food was on point and the crablegs were the best i have ever put in my mouth and I have had tons of legs from every place known to man. Saying that, I also had fried oysters and fried gator tail, not gonna lie, up their in the top 3. The 1.5 hour drive is well worth it and will be a definite location for our seafood fix. 10+ stars on this nice little hidden gem.

gray ainsworth The service and food were delicious. I enjoyed a great burger, onion rings and a dynamite chocolate pudding with whipped cream and an oreo on top. I highly recommend Gigis.

Katlin White Went here today for the first time with my husband for a harvest burger. We made a few small edits and our waitress Erica didnt even need to write it down. She got both of our orders correct just with memory and the kitchen had the food out fast. The food was exceptional. Easily one of the best veggie burgers that I have ever had and the garlic fries were to die for. I cant wait to come back and try more of their dishes. If you are looking for a good burger whether its normal or veggie, this is the spot for you. I even saw a promo where they let kids eat for free on Tuesdays.

The Traveling Hobo Cafe - Watkinsville

Sam Beasley Prompt friendly service. The fried pickles are really good. Update a year later. I have upgraded my review to five stars on all three levels. This is something I dont do too often, but yesterdays experience was great. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket with a side of fried dill pickles. The price was reasonable; I received ten large shrimps, with light batter and not too greasy, just right! Same for the side of fried dill pickles. My dining partner has fried artichoke po boy and loved hers. She said that the battered fried artichoke hearts were so good, she wished that she could just order a whole backet of those. While I waited for the food, about 15 minutes because it was so busy at lunch time, I had time to watch the kitchen prepare meals. This small bistro (because it is a small local restaurant) is very well run. There were just three people turning out orders and food for about a continuous group of 30 people. This team of three women were impressive the way they worked together. Everything synchronized. They were all busy but friendly and courteous. The locals were friendly and courteous also. The atmosphere is one where it is simple but warm and cozy. Makes me want to go back. Parking is a little tricky but doable. I highly recommend the Traveling Hobo for fried southern treats at reasonable prices. Well done ladies!
