Mia Bryant I love 1942. The vibes are amazing. My waiter Tito couldn’t be any better. He was very attentive, I never had to hunt him down, most definitely would come to 1942 Cantina and request Tito to be your server.

Shar Dorsey I was in the area and had a taste for some good fried so I googled some places and ended up here. Other than the customer service lacking, I don’t have any major complaints. They lack customer service real bad. You can tell it’s not personal though. Also, the fish wasn’t seasoned at all but I mean after I added the hot sauce and tartar sauce it was cool.

Williams Timeka (Meka) I’ve been to a few locations, but this by far is the best. Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and was very helpful. Staff was very pleasant. Location was kept clean as well. I ordered the Jerk Chicken potato (it may not be on the menu but it’s available), and I’m happy I did. Very good and filling. The only reason I rated food 4/5 is because I wasn’t a fan of their chicken and fries. I ordered the honey hot wings and fries. The fries were soggy and the chicken was soft. I love my chicken fried a little harder. But the flavor was really good. Highly recommend.

D S Food is great. Customer service is wonderful .....Leah, who took care of us was pleasant, and real. Its great to come in an establishment and be greated with the best customer service and I work in customer service. The atmosphere is quite and quaint.

Tero Pero Decided to have a crab boil lunch and Juicy Crab was recommended. I have been to several Crab boil places and this ranks high. We ordered the onion ring appetizer and the crab boil bag with crab cluster, shrimp, potatoes and corn. We requested a blend of mild Cajun and garlic seasoning. It was DELICIOUS! Just the right amount of spice. Our server Kourtney was very pleasant and the food came out rather quickly. The place was not that busy as it was lunch time during the week. Restaurant was clean and well maintained. Overall great experience and I would definitely return here again.

Alyssa Shazel Fast seating and food was amazing. Kapri was an amazing server, we did have to call for her she came and checked on us and asked were we okay with a smile. The manager Derrick went over and beyond with service and I can see why he has a great staff . He came to our table to check on us even though he knew our server was doing great . It went to pouring down and me and my step mom had no umbrella and I had to be to work. He took the time to grab an umbrella and walk us one by one to the truck. Me being in management myself he showed true customer service and support. Great job Derrick and Kapri

Cieaira Thigpen Today was my first time trying this place. I must say the baked chicken was seasoned very well and delicious.The greens and macaroni and cheese was good also. The owner was very nice. He provided good customer service. I will definitely go back.

Shannon The food was amazing! Battered Lemon Pepper Wings with Fries! The fries were actually seasoned and fresh! The wings were super tender and you could taste the lemon pepper! The chef (stepssoulfood:IG) came out to greet us! Nicole was a great waitress and very attentive. The drinks were bussin! Also, the prices are very reasonable! New vibe spot! I hope this place does great business on the southside!

Josue Polanco Had the pleasure of visiting this cute little gem of a restaurant. I believe most of it is Dominican based food but there are Cuban and Puerto Rican options too. Dont forget to get your Con-Con!! Ask for some meat gravy over it tho or some beans, it will change your life. Haha. The food was 7 out of 10. The staff is super friendly. I would totally go back!! I had the big chicken over rice and beans and a side of potato salad. Very good

Steve S Went on Monday night after seeing Christmas Lights. Wasn’t crowded. About 7:30 pm. Had the sliced pork plates for me and wife. Sides were Cole slaw, sweet potato, French fries, baked beans. Wife and I do family style and we share the sides. Sweet tea was good. Waitress was excellent.

Eli Green At NVS Soul Food I have had the most awesome experience I could ever have at a restaurant. The food is made fresh and looks and taste as good as the picture on the menu. The staff makes you feel at home like family. The atmosphere for me is like home away from home. The facilities are super clean. The location is perfect for my commute back and forth to work. Its perfect for a great time with the whole or a romantic dinner just for two. They are really good at catering to the needs of their customers and the community.

Vincent Goard An evening run on a Friday evening got turned into an impromptu date night because of this restaurant! The layout of the dining room was cozy, not for big parties but DEFINITELY a date night dinner if you dont need the Hibachi "cooking show." The atmosphere was neat and clean. The chairs were really cool. the service was fast, friendly, and the food came out QUICK!... The time we would have spent watching the same tricks from a different chef we spent talking with each other. We ordered the Hibachi combinations and the Dragon roll. Definitely check them out!

C.J. D Unfortunately this place is not what it used to be when it was owned or ran by the other family. The customer service has went down and so has the food. I ordered chicken birria tacos. They had zero flavor. They were stingy with the cilantro, onions, and cheese. On top of that, the taco shells were barely halfway full as you can see from my picture. I completely understand no longer having the condiment bar out to take as much sauce and veggies as you want, but they dont even give you the 2 oz little containers of salsa. The give you the little 1 oz. containers. Smh. This is NOT the spot to go to for birria tacos. I definitely wont be back.

Regina I’m so glad I was introduced to Da Hungry Spot by my colleague a couple months ago. Her selection of food is incredible and oh so delicious!!! The presentation, seasoning and portions are amazing. I always have enough to enjoy the next day. I’m always looking forward to her next menu.
