Kouris Grill & Bar - (Near Pekin, IL)

Stephen Rigg I am a local but this was my first time at Taproot, it was delicious, I will definitely go back soon. I had the Signature Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes and garlic roasted green beans. I’ll admit when the food came out, I thought I was going to leave hungry, but it really was plenty of food. I also started with the appetizer they had in special, some breaded mushrooms with rooster sauce. They were good, but I was wishing I would have tried the Calamari. The server was so friendly and great. Pretty too. ;) The restaurant is on Merchant Street in downtown Decatur, one of the coolest streets in Decatur with lights stretched over the street.

Steve Paul We stopped here in the way home from camping at Lake Shelbyville. It was about 2pm so it was not busy. The wait staff was very nice, the food order was correct and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is very clean including the bathrooms. It is well decorated and not the usual cluster of colors you see at other Mexican restaurants, this was very tastefully done. Lots of seating and parking. There’s some parking in the back for larger vehicles and trailers.

Jennifer Calef ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We came here for a girls’ dinner to celebrate a friend, and it was perfect from start to finish! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming — just what we were hoping for. The food was absolutely fantastic, but what really made the night stand out was our server, Lily. She was amazing — so personable and attentive! She kept our drinks full, gave us great recommendations, and made sure everything was just right. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and enjoys what she does. Lily truly made our dinner feel special — thank you for such a great experience!

Josh Hoffman I ate here for lunch today with my kiddos and wife after their games in Smithton . I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was highly recommend the boneless wings my wife loved them (she’s really picky) Our server was excellent she made sure our drinks were never empty and even gave my kids some recommendations with the menu telling them her favorites and was very personable with them. For a small town restaurant this was probably some of the best service I’ve received in a very long time so props to her and the management for training their employees so well. I dont think she told us her name but she had blonde hair and tattoos I willbe back to this restaurant to try more of their food good job no jacks !!

Jay S. Good spot for lunch and maybe even dinner if you are craving burgers. We had brought or dog today and were seated outside. Service was great. We ordered the falafel burger, hot honey chicken tacos, tomato soup, and truffle fries - everything was delicious.

Meghan Verhulst My husband had 9 cupcakes delivered to me for my birthday and they were really delicious. The delivery guy was also so sweet and wished me happy birthday. The cupcakes are very dense which I like but others may not. Think Crumbl cookie texture. The white cupcake in particular was very dense, others not quite as dense. They were beautifully decorated as well. Will order from them in the future!
