Tacos Calvillo - Danville

Rating: 4.6 /5
Olivia Catherine Service was insanely fast! Like, this kitchen could rival drive-thru speeds, but with sit-down food. I had the fish tacos and the fish was perfectly fried, super crispy and tender; it made for the perfect balance of crunch and softness with the corn tortillas. My husband had the steak quesadilla and said it was really good. Two sizeable adult meals plus splitting a margarita was under $30, and we are now delightfully full and happy.

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill - Mt Carroll

Rating: 3.2 /5
jerry tibbs This place should be closed down! The lady that runs it is always pissed at the world and is very snobby!! Dairy Queen needs to pull their franchise!!!!I used to order a medium chocolate shake and I would specify no whip cream and she would put it on there anyway. I would give it back to them but rather than do the logical thing and take a spoon and dip it off and apologize for messing up she would mix it in thinking that I wouldnt see it or taste it!! If you buy a shake or something and its made with spoiled milk they wont give you your money back because they refuse to give receipts!!!! I quit going there for a couple months and yesterday I decided I would try again nope same thing after specifying 4 time at the speaker no whip cream, she did it anyway!!!! Ill never go back again! I believe in doing business locally but not at this garbage dump!!! The man is every bit as rude as the woman!! The owners reply is phony as can be!!! Ive given them multiple times to get it right and they dont!!!! They plain dont listen!!! Theyre going to do it their way and be just as Rude!!!!

Sophies Cafe - Sterling

Rating: 4.6 /5
Alessandro Moschetti SUCH A CUTE AND LOVELY PLACE WITH A FAMILY VIBE. MADE ME FEEL LIKE BEING HOME. This review is based solely on my own experience and personal opinion. I went to Sophies Cafe on a cold Monday evening, 1/13/21, and it was my very first time here. Sterling is a small town in Illinois and while driving there you do not really have high expectations, but then you get there and its a vibrant city with many surprises and one of them is SOPHIES CAFE. Yes, a very nice surprise indeed, with a unique style and attention to details. FOOD/BEVERAGES: They offer a big selection of food and beverage, especially coffee based drinks. I had a Muffin and a Cappuccino. My Muffin was very nice, great flavor and fresh ingredients. My Cappuccino was absolutely well made.... right Coffee/milk balance that is not easy to achieve. I enjoyed both my Muffin and my Cappuccino alot. They Offer a great selection of coffee product for sale, roasted coffee beans, ground coffee and other locally sourced products. STAFF: all the staff were young girls and one young boy. they were all super nice and friendly. They would talk to you with a big smile on their face and a great attitude. They were helpful and have sense of humor. CLEANLINESS: The place was very clean and neat, and the restrooms were very clean too. Table and chairs were cleaned right after each guest. great policy. PLACE: cute little place with a family vibe and a sense of home.... weird feeling, maybe its the fireplace?!?! I love the way they arranged tables and chairs, and I do love the way it is decorated. a oddly pleasant mix of designs and styles who made me feel like I was sitting in my own living room, surrounded by friends. just an amazing feeling. Plenty of tables and chairs to reunite with your friends and family and a few more comfy spots with armchairs and sofas. The Bar area, where they make/prepare your order is a little island of modernism in a sea of old-like style. Something I had never seen before, sooooo unique and interesting. SLOT MACHINE ROOM: They do have a slot machine room but I did not get in there as I do not support gambling. So, I wont review that specific section of Sophies Café. LOCATION: conveniently located right next to stores and the only Wal-Mart in town. You can do your grocery and then go and get some deserved relax. PRICES: not expensive. CONCLUSIONS: I liked it alot and I will definitely go back while in Sterling.

Old Route 66 Family Restaurant - Dwight

Cal Snelling 5 of us old guys today. Heads up front doors hard to open due to the negative air pressure in the vestibule. Large glasses of OJ. One of us drinks tea and the waitress brought him a little pitcher to allow him to refill. Place was quite not to many people this morning. Food was outstanding. The rye bread toast was much thicker than many other places. The portion sizes were large. I had the 66 skillet. I was very happy. The Decor is pretty cool and they have beer and wine.

Thomas Aaker Food and service was excellent. Attentive and friendly. It was a slow time of day but typically they always are good. Floor by counter was sticky, probably from an old spill.

Jugraj Singh We decided to dine in, and it was such a great choice! The place is clean, comfortable, and has a nice vibe. The service was excellent — our server checked on us often, helped us to order and made great recommendations. The pizza was outstanding: crispy crust with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!
