Super Cafe and Ms. Lane Sandwich Shop - Metropolis

Rating: 5 /5
Bobbie Whitaker We are from Peoria IL and love to find local places to eat when traveling. We stopped in for lunch today and boy was it amazing. We order the chicken salad sandwich, potato salad and the East Cleveland style polish boy. It was absolutely delicious. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owners and boy do they have a passion for feeding people. They were both so sweet and incredibly friendly to everyone that stopped in. They have three bistro tables to sit and enjoy your meals as well as offer to go orders. It was very affordable and incredibly clean. Definitely stop in and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Anna Albright My husband visited on Saturday morning. Since it’s off season they were not busy at all. We had a well seasoned waitress who was excellent at her job! Our waters were frequently filled and so were our coffees. The food was delicious and reasonable too! The setting was really nice and quiet to talk. Definitely recommend visiting!

Sophie Kershaw-Patilla What an adorable diner! Our family stopped for lunch on our way home along I88. The diner is only a few minutes from the interstate, and there is free public parking around the area. The diner is small and quaint with four red diner tables with two chairs each (so our family of 4 took up half the seating). Plan ahead - there are riverfront picnic tables a block away, if your group wont fit. Many people stopped in for to-go orders, but I could see this being the spot for locals to hang out and eat lunch while chatting about town news. There is Sprecher root beer on tap and other bottled drinks in a mini fridge. There is also a dessert fridge - the cakes are scrumptious! The batter for their fried chicken and onion rings was really light and had a great flavor. Hubby enjoyed a Dixon Dog, and I had a fried pickle burger. Yum!

Garden of the Gods Outpost - Karbers Ridge

dallas The owners employ several local young people and work with their school schedules. Everyone there is extremely polite and helpful. They dont have fuels, but otherwise are an excellent place to pick up treats, souvenirs, and items that may have been forgotten for the trip. Not easily handicap accessible.
