Brick + Bramble - Edwardsville

Rating: 4.5 /5
Alicia Saint Ives We stopped into Brick + Bramble in Edwardsville for their weekday Happy Hour (Tuesday–Friday, 2–5 PM), and it absolutely exceeded expectations. They offer 5 small plates for $35, and it’s the perfect way to sample a little of everything. We tried the Truffle Parmesan Fries, Crispy Fried Cauliflower, Pork Potstickers, Queso & Chips, and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts—all delicious and well-seasoned. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The cocktail menu is just as impressive. We loved The Bramble (vodka + blackberry + champagne magic), and I’m already planning a return trip for Tini Tuesdays, where they serve a curated martini menu all day for just $8. Don’t skip the Smoked Olive Martini—it’s bold, savory, and unlike anything I’ve had locally. The atmosphere is elevated but still casual, with stylish decor, open space, and friendly service. It’s perfect for date night, happy hour with friends, or even solo at the bar. ✨ If you’re into local gems, cocktails worth traveling for, and honest recommendations, follow me here on Google Maps! I’m always

Trios Steakhouse - Watseka

Rating: 4.2 /5
Amy Dexter We have been twice recently, and the food and service was very good. We really liked the chicken and pork options. The steak had wonderful flavor, but was a little tough (but still good). The bread, salad bar, and sides are very tasty as well. (We really enjoyed the wild rice with the chicken) Very nice place to eat in town if you want a more upscale meal. Not a lot of options in town, so it is nice to have this gem locally. Very pleasant staff, and the restaurant is clean! Give them a try!

Reyna’s Taco-Bar - Galena

Rating: 4.9 /5
Megan I recently went here on a weekend trip and loved it! I would recommend and would go back. The service was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the authentic style steak tacos, which come in a set of three with rice and beans on the side. We were also given chips and salsa to start. The food was delicious. The restaurant was right off of the street and had their garage open for more of an open concept. It was a well visited place, but was very clean, easy to hear and talk in, and with quick service. We enjoyed our time!

BURMA O CLOCK - Wheaton

Rating: 4.8 /5
Lee Chow Burma O’Clock offers 100% authentic dishes with homemade flavors that remind me of my Burmese mother’s cooking! We started with the Burmese fritters, tea leaf salad and ginger salad for appetizers. The batter on the fritters was light and crispy and the sweet & sour tamarind sauce was a perfect balance to the fritters. Both the tea leaf and ginger salads were refreshing and texture-rich. We sampled all the traditional dishes, including Khao Swe, Moh Hinga, Nan Gyi Thoke - all wonderfully rich broth full of authentic flavors: coconut, curry, turmeric, fish sauce paired with very fresh and perfectly cooked (and bouncy) noodles. The beef curry with coconut infused rice was exceptionally tender and fragrant! Of course, we couldn’t resist finishing the wonderful meal with a serving of Falooda for dessert. The owner was so sweet and generous, she gifted us with some complimentary Burmese banana cake. I wish I can give Burma O’Clock more than 5-stars because it exceeds all expectations! It deserves a Michelin star, if not 4! If you’re familiar with Burmese food, you will find Burma O’Clock to be an authentic treasure and a culinary gift for those craving delicious food from the homeland… and if you are a first timer to Burmese food, this is the place to go to take your tastebuds on an unbelievable adventure! Wheaton and the surrounding areas are lucky to have such an authentic restaurant! My 92-year old Burmese father was transported to old memories of Yangon, with every delicious bite! Burma O’Clock is not just authentically delicious food, it’s a culturally rich experience! Thank you, Mra, we can taste your passion in your cooking! Much success to you for such a fine restaurant!
