The Pioneer Club - Lake Charles

Rating: 4.7 /5
Gwendolyn Hanson I have visited the pioneer club 4 times in the last year. Each visit was different but all were memorable. Valentine’s Day had a special menu, the steak I had was perfect. We also went for bingo and a brunch both were served buffet style. Brunch was nothing short of amazing. The food was top tier. From little quiche to eggs Benedict. I did actually order off the menu the fourth visit and was not disappointed. I encourage anyone who is thinking about it to go ahead and give it a try. You won’t regret it

Big Johns Seafood - Erath

Rating: 4.6 /5
Stacey Branom Seriously, Probably one of the best burgers around and the catfish, my god...its like getting kissed by an angel. So flavorful and absolutely amazing. Homemade fries?!? What!?!? Made by hand and seasoned with love. The friendliest service, and the best atmosphere. If your looking for a great restaurant for a date night or to show off the local cuisine to people that you have coming from out of town.

Thompsons Kitchen - Port Sulphur

Jason McGee Stopped here on our way back home from the orange fest. Food was good. I got the Seafood Platter. The seasoning was ok, not the best but I usually drown mine with tarter and cocktail sauce. The tarter was good but the cocktail sauce tasted weird. My wife got the Frog Legs with fries. She liked them. She also got a cup of Gumbo which was very good. Our server was nice. However the families at the tables we were sitting in between, kept belching. I thought is was funny and wasnt bothered, but my wife was shocked by it. Other than that, it was a good place to stop for some seafood.

Dixie Cafe at Houmas House and Gardens - Darrow

Rating: 4.5 /5
J.S. M. Fantastic hidden restaurant surrounded by lush tropical landscaping - this restaurant never disappoints! The Sunday brunch is all-you-can-eat and is a great value. The drinks are strong, cool and delicious. Make sure you stop in at the nearby Turtle Bar which is only a few feet from the entrance to this restaurant. Its one of the most interesting and unique small bars you will ever pop into in the Baton Rouge - New Orleans areas. If you do find yourself eating at Cafe Burnside or grabbing a delicious cocktail at the Turtle Bar, I assure you that youll be smitten and continue coming here no matter where youre from our how long your drive is. Guaranteed!
