LA PROVIDENCIA MEXICAN RESTAURANT - (Near Gretna, LA)

Aric Speziale On a work trip and came here for lunch. We got the Cajun catfish which was delicious and the jalapeño cheese grits werent spicy at all. We also got the seafood queso (which was a special that day) and it was phenomenal. Our waitress Taylor was extremely nice and helped answer all the questions we had. The atmosphere gives a historic vibe but being on the water you may not think otherwise. Overall a fantastic restaurant with great food and great people and we will be back next time we are in town.

Maddie Martin Great food! Very attentive service from the servers. I love that they had a mocktail section on their drink menu.. only negative thing i will say, the hostess kind of rudely and very loudly told my significant other to remove his hat at the table. She could have been a little more discrete about the situation.

Camarra B. Love at first bite.... This was my first time trying KOK Wings & Things and I am very impressed. I had sweet heat and lemon pepper wings, a catfish & shrimp basket with a side of sweet heat/honey garlic rub fries and everything was absolutely amazing. To add to my experience, the customer service was great and the atmosphere was very fun. Next time Im in the area, Im stopping by for sure!! And if you stay in the area, then you must check them out!

Samuel Patton A friend of mine told me this place was in his top 3 Mexican joints in the area so I gave it a try on the way home from Jackson, MS. This is an older building but my friend says he likes this one better than the new one they built on the next exit down. I was seated quickly but it took a few minutes to get chips & salsa and for them to take my order. They didnt seem to have many people working on this Friday night. But Im sure much of the traffic has shifted to their new location. I enjoyed the chips & salsa. They were above average for our area. I ordered the Steak Street Tacos and they were excellent. The steak had such a great flavor and was tender unlike most Mexican restaurants. Steak seems to be one of their specialties judging from the menu. Would I go back? That answer is definitely. I cant wait to take my wife and see what she thinks. We love our Mexican food.

Dave H This is my first time, and we were so tired, that we chose take-out and went back to the Airbnb. That being said, the greeter was friendly, the restaurant atmosphere is very nice, ample parking, and the Muffuletta, soup and potato salad was delicious. You have to get the mushrooms!!! Worth the extra. Before we leave the area, we definitely will return for dine-in.

Laura Michelle Lichoff-James Just good old comfort food. Friendly staff and customers. Good place to take a break from hunting to warm up and recharge before heading back out to the forest. :) Had the hamburger steak, onions, baked potatoe, side salad, toast and gravy for $11.99. Pictures look small but portions are huge! Had leftovers :)
