Josh Rawson A buddy and I stopped in for lunch at Anthony’s Italian Deli in Baton Rouge, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the location is convenient, and the service was friendly and quick. My friend had the lunch spaghetti, and I went with the muffuletta — hands down the best muffuletta I’ve ever had! The flavors were incredible and the portions were generous. Anthony’s is a true gem, and I’ll definitely be back soon.

Jason Blevins Burger was outstanding!!! Probably in contention for the best burger Ive had in Baton Rouge..... seriously try it! We also had the fried shrimp and catfish. Catfish was good but the shrimp were excellent. Hush puppies are also excellent ....Service is SO FAST! Food was ready by the time I paid , got my drink then sat down...... onion rings are legit not frozen out of a bag....red beans and rice and also killer. Prices are also very fair and large portions....just check my pics. The staff was super friendly also. The manager even checked on us while dining and asked if he could bring us anything or refill our drinks....you dont see that much anymore these days.! We were impressed!

4.Brasserie Byronz

Address: 515 Mouton St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806

Jackie Pierce My husband and I really enjoyed our first experience at Brasserie Byronz. The staff were so courteous and friendly, and the restaurant itself was super clean with a relaxing atmosphere. We had the Goat Cheese Croquettes, Chicken Bouillebasse, and Crab Mac & Fromage. The croquettes were out of this world. Fresh, hot - but not too hot!, and savory with a bit of sweet (served with pickled cranberries and honey). I am so impressed with these, that next time I might skip an entree altogether and just get several orders of the Croquettes. The Bouillebasse was flavorful, the Chicken tender, and it reminded me of a nostalgic home cooked meal my mother would often make. Its similar to gumbo, but with a lot less liquid and more rice. I did need to add a bit of salt and pepper, but I like my food with a good deal of seasoning. Garlic bread was on point, soft, and buttery. The Crab Mac & Cheese had wayyyyyy more Crab than I was expecting, which was pleasantly surprising! Good portion and delicious. Were looking forward to coming back another time to try more out!

We looked at our options locally and neither of us were familiar with La Contea Italiano Ristorante but the menu looked great, we were hungry and there were wait time at that moment. La Contea Italiano Ristorante far exceeded our expectations! The food and cocktails were amazing, lovely atmosphere, and service was impeccable! There was a guy singing live Rat Pack tunes who was great and added to the atmosphere. We cant say enough good things about our experience! 12.la Madeleine

Address: 7615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809

(600) user ratings total:

Aimme Anguiano I had originally visited sometime in April. Id been driving by around lunchtime and noticed it seemed kinda cozy, as well I had gone to one in my youth due to a French class. From there, I turned into the parking lot of the strip mall. (Plenty of parking, and theres also takeout.) I was curious as to whether or not they had any savory crêpes, so I looked up the menu online and found one under Chicken la Madeleine and went inside. Its very comfortable, to the point I wanted to just relax and read by the fireplace they had (didnt emit heat, so not sure if that feature works). They even had assortments of desserts! (From what I saw, they even do catering.) It seemed a bit slow, and everyone was pretty nice. I ordered my crêpe with a side of mashed potatoes. It was pretty good. The potatoes were a tad sweet, interestingly enough. It was nice enough to visit again with a friend last month. (We sat outside.) Had the mushroom soup (creamy, though it seemed to taste like it had the same base as the potato soup my friend ordered), half a quiche, and some salad for a pretty good price. Recommend it!

14.Dorothys Soul Food Kitchen

Address: 1221 Gardere Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70820

(584) user ratings total:

Barry Esnault Its not the first soul food kitchen Ive been to, but it is the best Ive been to so far. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food came out quick, hot, & delicious. I had the fried pork chop, cabbage, yams, and red beans & rice. The meal came with sweet tea and a side of cornbread for just under 20 bucks. Pork Chop was thick cut and fried perfectly. All the sides were straight FIYA. Sweet tea had the strong flavor of the betes, so of course, it was sweet and good to the last drop. Not located in the best part of town, but it is convenient to get to, and theyve been open 25 years, so their obviously doing it up right. Small seating area, so its probably best to order and pick up. Give it a shot, and you wont be disappointed.
