List 14 Budget-Friendly Restaurants Near You in Ruston, Louisiana (Part 2)

DEBORAH CRAWFORD My husband and I drove about an hour just to find a new restaurant this past Sunday. So after searching Google we found Roma in Ruston La. It was busy of course and perhaps we went through the wrong door( it was by the bar) when we were approached by this waitress who was having what looked like an anxiety attack. She had a long braided brown ponytail and she looked like she needed a smoke break. She never smiled, even when she passed by our table. Nevertheless, the food was very good ( a Greek salad with added chicken and spaghetti for my husband). The other waiters and waitresses were friendly and accommodating. They made us forget about the one we meet around the bar area. Our waiter had a wonderful smile and made sure were taken care of. One bad apple did not stop the whole show. We will be coming again.

Hunter Deese Great atmosphere, great food, wonderful atmosphere. Presley made sure to come and check on us and make sure everything tasted ok. Will definitely be coming back.

Courtney Hadley Great crawfish and great service! We used Tech Drive Crawfish for our resident event for the second year. So many residents said how great and spicy the crawfish was!

Samuel Patton A friend of mine told me this place was in his top 3 Mexican joints in the area so I gave it a try on the way home from Jackson, MS. This is an older building but my friend says he likes this one better than the new one they built on the next exit down. I was seated quickly but it took a few minutes to get chips & salsa and for them to take my order. They didnt seem to have many people working on this Friday night. But Im sure much of the traffic has shifted to their new location. I enjoyed the chips & salsa. They were above average for our area. I ordered the Steak Street Tacos and they were excellent. The steak had such a great flavor and was tender unlike most Mexican restaurants. Steak seems to be one of their specialties judging from the menu. Would I go back? That answer is definitely. I cant wait to take my wife and see what she thinks. We love our Mexican food.

Azreath Absolutely amazing food, communication, and overall customer service! I had never tried any middle eastern food before so I went with the owner’s recommendation, the kabsah. My girlfriend got the chicken kebab, the beef kebab, and the chocolate. We both tried each others food, and I loved absolutely everything! You will not find better food for the price. You order by messaging at least a day in advance - I received my food the next day at dinner - and then coming to pick it up at their house whenever its ready. I cannot stress enough how absolutely delicious the food was! I will be coming again to try the shawarma and mesqah.

Judy Gao Picked up the pork stir fry noodles, Very delicious, its unlike any of the stir fried Ive tasted every where else in Ruston. It has a nice fragrant Szechuan pepper taste to it, tender pork meat. Also the food came out fast

Kirk Patrick Been driving by this place for years. Decided to drop by randomly. Very fast service. Plenty of beer on tap. Was actually very impressed.

Jason Jackson Had a great lunch there today . Super attentive and friendly server , seated right away , everyone loved their meal and my Mexican hamburger was really good . Queso was good too . Glad we found a place with good service in that area .

lexhowdie ! Ive been here several times and absolutely love it. The Downtown is my favorite pizza and never misses! The salads are delicious, but Id recommend getting dressing on the side for more control. Service is always helpful and friendly, even when busy. The acoustics are not great and it can be very noisy inside, but the outside patio is excellent for a more relaxing evening. Im not much of a drinker, but I love getting to try the beer samples. And their Blackberry Bramble cocktail is a standout. Sooo refreshing

Cailin Whitehead Consistently a 10/10! Love their sandwiches, soups, and cookies. Always fresh and delicious. One of the best places to eat in Ruston!

Matthew Pike Still a great BBQ spot under new management and ownership! Finally got a chance to go try the new BBQ tacos (brisket and pulled pork) and was super impressed, definitely my new favorite. Go ahead and let em put on the jalapeño ranch and give the peach salsa a try, all the perfect mix!

Adam Nott I just want to preface this by mentioning that Heather is an amazing server, and makes the best tartar sauce Ive had in my life. Kudos, and props. Sundown is, I suspect, the tavernest place in Ruston. It lends itself to good music and entertainment, local and national brews on tap, and some really good catfish. Its divided between an inside area (with a bar, pool, and indoor seating) and an outdoors patio thats super chill to hang around in cool autumn days. I got two of the local IPAs on tap: Ghost in the Machine and Dr. Juice. With names like those, how could I say no? Coupled with the catfish and fries, and amazing service, it was an amazing dinner.
