Michael Trahan Probably one of the best places to eat in lake Charles. A good place for a couples "date night" or an exceptional dinner with a group of friends. One of the higher priced restaurants in the area but well worth it. May be higher priced but it wont break the bank. Everything on the menu is worth ordering.

Gerrit Lawrence Followed this restaurant from their last location and was not disappointed! I had the crab stuffed fish and it was incredible. I also had the tea which was excellent. Service was friendly and very knowledgeable. Atmosphere was really a mix of old world and modern which worked great. Highly Recommend

cindy watford We were on vacation in lake charles and stopped here for lunch. Very much enjoyed it. Quiet at the bar, if course it was day time during the week. The shrimp basket was huge! The hamburger with egg looked amazing and husband did it was! Great drinks

Lauri B 9/10/2025: My friend and I had an early birthday dinner for me at GRS. The service was exquisite from start to finish. We started with the complimentary bread with our wine. The butter they serve with the bread has small pieces of course sea salt in it which was divine! It was the best bread and butter I have ever had hands down. For our meal, we ordered the beef wellington and brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious! The servings are large enough to split, especially after the bread and wine. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the casino. You have to pass a shop and then a pizza by the slice place to get there. The restaurant is waterside, so the view is pretty. I recommend this place for special occasions. The atmosphere alone is impressive, but then when you add the service and the food, you will be wowed!

Justin Bass The food was amazing! Our whole group devoured our entrees. The fajita bowl with steak is great! The green salsa has this wonderful sweet with spiciness. The bar backdrop is incredible and the margaritas were perfect!

Everything is delicious and with a huge menu there’s something for everyone … steak, fish, chicken, burgers, po’ boys. But antipasto, pasta, salads, drinks and dessert are where they shine. The pasta Alfredo is on the lunch menu, but if you ask you can get it at night. It’s mind blowing, simply the best I’ve ever had. I don’t what they do to it, but I’m glad they do it. Im addicted to the steakhouse classic wedge salad. Their own dressing, so delicious I could eat it with a spoon. They started out as a steak house, so they know how to do it right. The drinks and wine lists are long and inventive, the bar is packed on weekends. For good reason. Service is stellar, with a very knowledgeable and attentive owner and staff. The atmosphere is what you make of it. Cozy candlelight corners perfect for date night or in the middle of all the action. There’s even a space for groups. Dessert is a treat. Save room. All made in house. Their star attraction is bread pudding, which I generally don’t like. This, I love its a mix of bananas foster & bread pudding. And its a marriage made in heaven. Last night I had brown sugar cheesecake with pecan pie sauce. Amazing. Check it out y’all, you’ll see what I mean. Tucked away in downtown Lake Charles. It’s a sweet surprise, very worth finding. I promise.

Area 337 is one of those rare spots where every plate feels homemade and full of heart. Portions are generous, and everything we tried came out hot, crisp, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—exactly the kind of place where you want to sit down, slow down, and enjoy good food with good people. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to share their culture through the menu. If you’re craving something different from the usual options in the area, Area 337 is absolutely worth the stop. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Crystal It might not look too appetizing .. but This salad is the most delicious salad I have ever tasted. My husband isn’t into salads and he almost devoured the whole thing. We stayed for the weekend at the golden nugget and came here everyday. Their French fries and cheese bread are also good. The pizza is okay. I tried their margarita and I did not like it. I would stick to drinking from inside the casino or go to their champagne bar. I would recommend this salad so you can feel light and satisfied as you go off to gamble inside the casino. No Need for reservations. You can also use your Landry club membership to rack up points. They also stay open late for carry out only.

Mandie Trahan My husband and I went on a Friday night to listen to John Guidroz play outside on the terrace. We arrived and found a table. We were greeted and given drink menus and menu. I ordered a watermelon drink that was wonderful. - we ordered Fried Pepper jack bites for an appetizer. It came with a blueberry pepper jelly or dipping sauce. For our meals we ordered the spicy pizza added shrimp, a custom burger, and the seafood lasagna. The seafood lasagna was on the weekly special for under $12.00. Everything was great. The size of the pizza and lasagna were priced great for the size. This was our first time there to eat, we will definitely be back to eat..

Ashley Guillory We were waited on by Parker who always had a smile and we had the Caribbean Jerk Lamp Chops(AMAZING)! We also ordered the Prestige Burger.(cooked with love). The chicken and sausage gumbo !!!! Whew !!! Nothing else to say All of our food came out hot and fresh. It was all delicious and they have a very distinct flavor we really enjoyed. I ordered the “Make me smirk” drink. (Margarita), It was very good. The owner Michelle was walking around engaging with her guests. The low lighting provided a very intimate feel which was perfect for date night. Very refreshing environment, positive energy from the entire staff. All prices were very fair and similar to others in our area. We most definitely will be back

Irma Trevino I dont visit Modern Pantry too often, but the times I have were always a good experience. Staff is courteous and friendly. Dax was very kind and helpful with my request to heat up breakfast sandwiches. I had the Ham Cheese Egg Croissant. It was delicious. My go to is the Chicken Salad Sandwich. I have a finicky appetite and I am pleased with Modern Pantry. Thank you Modern Pantry Staff.
