principle food and drink

Principle Food and Drink - Kalamazoo

Rating: 4.7 /5
Clayton Boesen We enjoyed the nicely presented and creative appetizers. It was a bit busy and we waited about 10 minutes for seats at the bar. Interesting, though, there were tables available the entire time we were there. If were walking around downtown Kalamazoo, we would consider stopping for a drink or appetizer.

Kabin Krusers Oyster Bar - Rochester

Rating: 4.6 /5
Jessica Lupo We loved the vibe of Kabin Krusers and our server Morgan H was phenomenal! She was friendly, attentive, and so sweet. It truly made our experience even more enjoyable! The oysters and mussels are fantastic and reasonably priced compared to other places. We will definitely be back! Thanks, Morgan!

the apparatus room

The Apparatus Room - Detroit

Rating: 4.4 /5
Tafili The Apparatus Room delivered one of the best dinners we’ve had in Detroit. We came on a busy December night with a reservation and were seated right away. Valet at the door was convenient ($20). The restored firehouse interior is striking: high ceilings, dramatic hanging lights, and a huge Christmas tree that makes the space feel special. Our server Salma was excellent: knowledgeable, attentive, and gave spot-on recommendations. The Heritage Sourdough (14-year-old starter) was outstanding, crusty and tangy with whipped butter and sea salt. The Gem Caesar (no anchovies) was solid with crisp lettuce and black-pepper crumb, though the dressing leaned a bit heavy on mayo for my taste. The Market Steak, cooked perfectly medium-rare, was easily the highlight: juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The two spirit-free cocktails (Pear Elixir and Weekend Up North) were the best non-alcoholic drinks I’ve ever had. We finished with the Drift Away dessert; the coconut-banana ice cream was exceptional and beautifully plated. One small issue: the background music occasionally shifted to soft electronic-keyboard piano tracks that felt out of place in an otherwise sharp, upscale room. A moodier playlist would suit the space better. Total was about $120 before tip plus $20 valet, which felt completely fair for the quality and service. Already planning to come back.

Fahem Steakhouse•Charcoal Grill - Dearborn Heights

Rating: 4.1 /5
Zak Sikdar The food here is incredible - every single time. My wife and I have been a few times now, tried a bunch of different dishes, and we’re always blown away by how good everything is. The place is spotless inside, and the portions are huge - you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff are super friendly and always make the experience even better. The Brazilian steak with fattoush, truffle fries, and Alfredo pasta is an unbeatable combo. Definitely worth checking out!

Tabe - Ann Arbor

Rating: 4.4 /5
Tarana Joshi We were so excited to hear that there’s finally a spot in Ann Arbor that offers omakase experience, so we had to check it out at Tabe! And I am so glad we did because we were blown away by this place. We did the Essential Omakase package which is 7 courses for $90 each. It felt like way more than 7 courses and we were absolutely stuffed by the end. The appetizers were DELICIOUS, so flavorful and unique. The fish was so fresh, they fly it in from Japan multiple times per week. It was great being able to speak to the chefs, and they show you what each fish is and where each fish comes from before they serve you each piece. It was such a great experience I can’t wait to go back and bring more of my friends!
