Mary Naughton This is a great spot for any meal. I’ve been here from brunch, dinner, restaurant weeks, and today for lunch. The food was so good and so was the drink. I ordered “the city” - a Manhattan, it was delicious and perfectly balanced with great flavor. We ordered rigatoni ala vodka (with the cayenne pepper), and a portabella burger/sandwich, finished with a bananas foster bread pudding. The portabella sandwich had a little spicy kicked to it and was topped with roasted red pepper, which is the bright red in the photo. We also had a Mexi-cocoa. It was ok, pretty much tastes like the powdered Abuelita packets from the store with a lot of milk; not as much kick as I’d like, but it was good. The bread pudding felt more like a piece of banana bread-cake than a bread pudding in the classic sense but it was good.
The rigatoni was so good, I love it with the cayenne pepper, the hotter the better! The Manhattan was great as well, one was sufficient for so early in the afternoon. I love the vibe and space here, it’s different than other places downtown and throughout the area. You don’t feel rushed when you come, it’s not as though they set a timer and rush you through your meal and out the door like I’ve had at some places in the Southern Tier.
