Cackle & Oink BBQ - Sherman

Rating: 4.8 /5
Michael Payne Got the 2 meat plate with a few ribs added to try them. They were the best ribs Ive had for a long time! Nice, moist, and meaty! Perfectly seasoned and absolutely no sauce necessary. Brisket was great with nice bark. The pork was great and all of the sauces paired great with it. This is a must try if you are visiting the area. Ill definitely be back with an appetite!

Rib Hut - El Paso

Sherri Miller This is the spot for Texas BBQ! We were recommended here from a local for a place to get local fare. We always like to try places that are family owned and operated or a small business instead of a chain restaurant when we visit new places. We were greeted promptly by Adriana and were seated quickly. Angel, our server, was helpful and attentive. When we were getting ready to pay we spoke with Adriana about the food (which was amazing!) and she informed us that everything is made in house and you can definitely tell! I ordered the miner potato- Yum! My husband ordered the brisket and the beet rib, with Mac and cheese and coleslaw. There is something for everyone on their menu and the pricing is good for what you get.
the roof

The Roof - Sugar Land

Rating: 3.2 /5
Kim Wells We ate at the Roof last night, and I enjoyed the vibes, and the atmosphere as well as the food, our server was amazing and full of joy. The only reason what I give the food a four star is because my sides came out a little bit cold. But that’s not going to stop me from eating there again. I’ve been there a few other times and it’s always a great vibe.

Compadres Hill Country Cocina LLC - Boerne

Rating: 4.7 /5
Wendi the Wanderer We visited Compadres Hill Country Cocina in Boerne that was an authentic and patriotic experience with great food. I tried the George Strait tacos, that were named after the country music legend after his visit to the restaurant, and my husband had the 3-pack birria tacos. The restaurant was busy but our food came out fast and fresh. During our visit, we saw multiple military members, law enforcement, and veterans come for lunch—many giving the chef and owner, a two time Iraq veteran, a big hug. This restaurant gets it right, not just with the food, but with the remarkable support to veterans, Purple Heart recipients, and Gold Star families.
