2 /5 jessica Larche: For this price point, the food really needs to be much better.
The cheese fondue was overwhelmed by garlic to the point of being unpleasant. One variety of steak was so peppered I couldn’t stop choking most of the meal while other meats were bland and clearly under-seasoned, and the potatoes were nearly impossible to enjoy—grilling and eating unseasoned potatoes at the table just doesn’t work. However the ahi tuna was very good, and the sauces help some with the bland meats.
The chocolate course was also underwhelming and forgettable. Even though it was the best part of meal.
Service was fine, but not notable, and there were basic cleanliness issues: we were given dirty utensils and the table was never properly cleaned. We didn’t order any drinks besides water, yet the bill for 2 adults and 2 kids still came out to nearly $380 after the additional 12% charge. On top of that, there’s clear pressure to tip 18–25%, which would added another $65–$75.
For the cost, this felt wildly overpriced for what you receive. The food is easily reproducible at home—melt cheese or chocolate yourself and cut up grocery-store ingredients—and you’d get the same or better results without the frustration.
At these prices, I expect better — better ingredients, better flavors, and at the very least, clean utensils. Hard pass.
I just remember the melting pot from a decade ago, when I last went being much better. You didn’t have to pay extra for the cheesecake and the overall experience was so much nicer and the bill wasn’t as shocking. The prices went up while the quality went down.
