STK Steakhouse - San Diego

Rating: 4.5 /5
E Norman Dao During a recent weekday visit near the holidays, my family and I arrived at this establishment for happy hour, where we were impressed by the tasteful Christmas decorations. Despite the early hour for dinner, the atmosphere was welcoming. Our server delivered exceptional service, showcasing outstanding attentiveness and efficiency. Unfortunately i forgot her name but she was Asian, sweet and fast. The extensive menu sampling featured an array of expertly prepared dishes, including mini hamburgers, calamari, Wagyu tacos, steak bites, oysters, etc. The diverse happy hour offerings and delightful donuts, paired with a well-crafted spiced watermelon cocktail, made for a satisfying experience. We would recommend this establishment and intend to return.

Shosha - Sunnyvale

A Patel Good food and atmosphere. Really appreciated that it wasn’t crowded so much when we went tonight. They had event going on but it was upstairs so it kept natural separation of crowd. Appetizers came fast but Kitchen could have hurried up the main course, it was a long wait. Aldrin provided excellent service. Thanks!

Alexanders Steakhouse Pasadena - Pasadena

Rating: 4.5 /5
Michael Hellickson FANTASTIC food, SUPERLATIVE service, and alluring atmosphere! My smoking hot wife and I LOVED the beet salad, black cod, and the chocolate souffle. The amusement bousch and the caramel apple were also terrific! The surprise cotton candy was a nice touch as well! :) Service was timely, friendly, and 100% on-point! We went on a Tuesday night around 5:15 and had the place to ourselves until almost 6pm, when EVERYONE rolled in! :) We WILL eat here again! :)

Mélisse Restaurant - Santa Monica

Rating: 4.5 /5
Christopher Metoyer Melissa is everything you hope for and more from a two Michelin star experience in Los Angeles. From the moment you walk into the intimate five table dining room, the evening feels special. The ambiance is understated and elegant, the service is warm and deeply knowledgeable without ever being overbearing, and the meal unfolds like a beautifully choreographed performance with every course more thoughtful and precise than the last. The menu is a masterclass in balance, technique, and flavor. The Miyazaki wagyu first bite set the tone for the night, rich and perfectly marbled with layers of umami that lingered beautifully. The Croque Madame with truffle Gruyère fondue was indulgent yet refined, while the Caesar with smoked anchovy and parmesan was a clever and deeply flavorful reimagining of a classic. The golden tomato soup, paired with pistachio and strawberry sorbet and finished with Portuguese olive oil, was as vibrant and nuanced as summer in a bowl. The progression of dishes shows a real depth of technical execution, from the delicate Santa Barbara spot prawn with umeboshi custard to the luxurious ossetra caviar course, every element was perfectly cooked, balanced, and plated with intention. The Wolfe Ranch “Dirty” quail was a standout, juicy and bold with apricot carrot curry and black olive caramel creating layers of unexpected harmony. The quail and lobster tortellini in carrot brodo was a study in finesse, and the lamb course and seasonal desserts struck the perfect chord between creativity and comfort. What truly elevates the experience is the service. The waitstaff were impeccable, warm, intuitive, and eager to share the stories and techniques behind each dish, which added another layer of appreciation to an already remarkable meal. Melissa is the kind of restaurant that makes an evening feel unforgettable. Highly recommended for a special occasion or simply to experience one of Los Angeles’ most accomplished kitchens at the very top of its game.

Commis - Oakland

Dee Dee Pugh I celebrated my 62nd birthday at Commis Restaurant, 2 Michelin star, with my adorably daughter and my wonderful sister, who hosted the dinner , and I can honestly say it was an experience unlike any I’ve ever had. This was my first tasting dinner at such an exquisite and beautiful restaurant, and it exceeded every expectation. The food was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The drinks were exceptional, and the service was impeccable. Every member of the staff was attentive and warm, making us feel truly cared for throughout the evening. I especially want to mention our host, Brandon, who was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and made the entire experience feel effortless and special. The atmosphere was intimate and elegant—slightly dark, but in a way that felt romantic and immersive rather than distracting. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Thank you for creating such a memorable evening for a very special birthday. I truly hope I’m able to return again someday. This was a night I will never forget.
