TheBayArea.831 Great food. Shrimp tostadas were delicious. Staff was very friendly. The music was amazing. Plenty of seating. Parking is a little difficult. But itd worth it.

Izakaya Ginji - San Mateo

Judy Margaret Chen One of the best place to get Japanese food. The restaurant’s inside is decorated in Japanese style culture. It’s very nice, and we instantly fell in love with the decor. The place is always busy, so sometimes the order is a little slow but they always try their beat to attend to the customers. One other things I like about this place is the effort they put in to serve the little customers. See that cute little tiger plate? My baby likes it very much. The yakitori, or skewers, is very tasty, and they have 2 different flavors for you to try. During peak hours, the yakitori might be served a little slow due to high demands of orders. Besides that, the udon also is good, but the don is just so so, but it’s not bad. The desserts are yummy, but it’s too sweet to my liking.

Fabian We arrived at a large parking lot with the sun blasting from the sky. The only noise was the slow humming of cars passing by behind us. No person was to be seen, in what was a peak American moment. With the American flag waving across from us, we entered the establishment and were greeted by cold and agreeable AC chilled air. With a friendly nod we were shown to a table. It was 1.30pm on a Sunday, and there were 4 tables occupied. By the door, there was an elderly lady eating with what might be a grand child. In the center of the room, a large group congregated around a big round table (typically Chinese restaurant like, if I may add), with a rotating center. This center is meant for aharing food, but this group was each having their own meal, no center food to be seen. And finally, a group of 4 having a quite discussion We ordered the Tofu dishes, the waiter was brisk but efficient. As a side we got the fried rice, with vegetables, highly recommended. Our waters were brought out by a Chinese boy, the waters with plenty of ice, and fresh taste. While waiting for the food we got to appreciate theinterior design, clearly Yosamite themed with many studfed animals, and pictures of scenery. Overall a cozy and calm vibe, where we felt at ease The food was splendid, well seasoned, and plenty. So much in fact we were able to take almost a full additional meal home with us. We recommend this place warmly, specially for vegans.

Carlos Vargas The chicken is really good, the dips are great, the service is incredible. It’s a really good place, they serve a lot of food, I can eat twice with one portion. I took it to go, but the place also looks clean and great.

Eric Moody This was a fun place to drop in for some good food and cold beer. the crowd was great, and surprisingly full for early on a weeknight. Seems like lots of patrons were locals / regulars which is how these breweries thrive.

TWISTED MEATS - Thousand Oaks

Rating: 4.8 /5
Universal Experiences I had an amazing experience at Twisted Meats in Thousand Oaks, and I can honestly say this place is now one of my favorite spots for Mediterranean-style food in the area. I ordered the doner kebab sandwich, and it was absolutely outstanding. The meat was perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and packed with deep, rich flavor. You can immediately tell the doner is prepared with care and quality ingredients. Every bite had a great balance of seasoning, char, and freshness, without being greasy or heavy. It was flavorful in that authentic, comforting way that keeps you wanting more. The bread was soft and warm, holding everything together beautifully without falling apart. The sauces and toppings were incredibly well balanced — nothing overpowering, just enhancing the flavor of the meat. You could taste how fresh everything was, from the vegetables to the herbs and spices. This wasn’t a fast-food style kebab — this was a crafted, restaurant-quality doner that rivals what you’d get in Europe or the Middle East. Portion size was generous too. I left satisfied but not weighed down, which is always a great sign. It’s the kind of meal that makes you think, “Yeah… I chose the right place today.” The atmosphere at Twisted Meats was clean, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and efficient, and you could tell they take pride in what they serve. My order came out quickly and looked just as good as it tasted — fresh, hot, and beautifully put together. If you’re anywhere near Thousand Oaks and craving real, high-quality doner kebab, this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re new to Mediterranean food or already a fan, Twisted Meats delivers on flavor, quality, and consistency. I will absolutely be coming back — and next time I’m already thinking about trying more from the menu. But that doner kebab sandwich? It’s already a winner in my book. Highly recommended!
