5 /5 Cindy Middendorf: Hubby and I were visiting Ferne Clyff State Park while on a Shawnee National Park vacation. We stopped here to get some lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The complimentary chips were thin, crisp, fresh and delicious. The salsa was very mild, but good flavor. Im sure they can heat it up if you want it spicier. I had guacamole and it was fresh and not overpowered by any non-avocado ingredients. Hubs had the steak fajita lunch special at only $11.99and was very happy with it and he is a picky fajita-lover. It came with the rice, beans, and all the fixings including guacamole. I opted for the chicken fajita salad and was delighted with it. The warm fajita mix was at the bottom of a large salad taco shell with the lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and cojita cheese on top. There was cheese melted in the fajita mix at the bottom. It was heavenly. There were more onions in the fajitas than we prefer, but the flavor was excellent. If we lived in the area, we would be regulars. The restaurant is small, but cutely decorated. Its not fancy, but we didnt care.
