Kouris Pub - (Near Peoria, IL)

3 /5 ᗰคгรєlค ᗰ.: This was my first time eating at Kouris Pub, I was meeting a couple friends there. My first thought was how cool this place looked. Absolutely love the indoor/ outdoor fire pit, all the seating and the fact that you could practically be outside and still be covered. I was really impressed with the whole layout of the restaurant on the outdoors. The inside was nice, though I thought it was quite dark and most of the lighting was kind of red tinted. I was surprised it was that dark for it being around 1:00 in the afternoon so I was glad that we chose to sit outside. I included some pictures of the inside and lighten them so you could see what the room looked like. There werent many people there, 2 couples when we walked in and then three more sets of people came in after we ordered. There was still plenty of seating and it was a beautiful day! I ordered the chicken sandwich and my friends both ordered the chicken strip baskets. The sandwich meals only come with chips, if you want to get french fries its a $4 upgrade. The chicken strips came with french fries so I just tasted a few of theirs. I dont really try to write negative reviews so I look at it as a way of helping. My honest review of the sandwich is good... it was tasty and not too chewy although lacking flavor. The chicken strips were actually a bit tough as if they were overcooked and also lacking flavor. Honestly, they tasted just a little bit scalded on the outside as if there wasnt enough breading so they tasted a bit rubbery. The french fries, also lacking flavor, I dont think they use any seasoning on them, Id love to see some sort of a Cajun seasoning in the future, I think that would be really popular. All around I mean the meal was okay, the service was good but I think that adding some seasonings to the mix would definitely shake things up a bit. Again, I absolutely love the layout of the restaurant the whole outdoor seating is just absolutely beautiful so 10 stars on that one! Im honestly not sure if I will return but if I do Ill come back and update my review. Have a great day!

5 /5 Kevin Schmidt: I had the ham and cheese sandwich as my wife and son had the reuben sandwich with the corned beef but the meal was great took it out had great service while I was there Mr Jackson is a very well-mannered young man who will help with anything you need and make sure its right before you leave we all enjoyed it very much place is simple to get to easy to find out over on Sterling its a wonderful night I love to sit in there and eat but I just had to go

The service is absolutely terrible and the manager (who introduced himself as Ben) and our server, who told me she wouldn’t give me her name, was rude and not accommodating at all. We ordered the Ribeye sandwich and it came well done and was extremely tough to eat. I expressed my concern to our waitress, and the manager, who stated that’s how they cook it and were unable to cook it any other way due to the meat being too thin. They stated we could not get a refund and offered a drink instead which didn’t make sense - if you can offer free liquor, you can take the sandwich off. I expressed how we’ve never been here and was unaware of their policy of cooking all the meat to the same temperature. We even stated we wanted the meat medium well and the server didn’t inform us when ordering that they weren’t able to meet our request. I explained that we aren’t from here and they still wasn’t willing to take it off. Disappointing experience to our Saturday night.

1 /5 HumanCannonBaller: Im an event planner in the area, trying to bring business to Khouris. I came in at 230 on Saturday. There was a group of about 10 people, 2 groups of 2 ea, at the bar, a couple people playing slots, and a bunch of servers. The bartender was in a conversation with two of the people at the bar. I waited, letting her finish the conversation while I waited, seen but unacknowledged. she gave the two beers to the other two at the bar, and finally said hi. I asked if a manager was available, she said they werent, what did I want? I introduced myself, she cut me off and said she didnt have time for this, shes busy! I said no prob and said Id just leave a packet and tried to explain what the packet was. she cut me off again and said she didnt have time for this and hand waved me off. Ive worked in restaurants and bars forever. Im trying to bring you business. THAT isnt customer service. I wouldnt ever bring friends here if thats how Im treated when theres next to nothing going on in the bar. Be better people.
