5 /5 Michael Heironimus: Thanksgiving dinner was really good. The cheesecake was one of the best I have ever had. The Basil Hayden old fashioned was smooth and yummy.
4 /5 Rosmery Zubin DRozario: Really like this place (close to work) drinks and service is excellent.
The burger is my fav along with the artichoke dip. For 1st timers — I recommend going with these classics.
It can be sometimes quite loud with the office crowd — so depends on your preference.
Would also love if they have a few more beer options.
5 /5 Bob Kerr: Excellent wait staff and head waiter. Food was exceptional in taste and correct temperature .
Only comment is waiter should know a martini is made with gin, not vodka.
5 /5 Catherine D: Smyth Tavern located next door to the Smyth Hotel. It’s a nice upscale vibe but non pretentious. They have a really good happy hour with $7 beers and $12 cocktails. Their snacks are really good too. We sat at the bar and it was a nice experience. Would recommend for a quick bite and drink.
Ariana Lucidonio Came for a big birthday celebration with 8 people and had a great experience! The service was truly fantastic and so was the food.
The rigatoni alla vodka and bolognese were standouts. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauces were just right - simple but delicious. The chilean sea bass fell apart to the touch. The cucumber salad was crisp and bright. All the desserts were yummy - vanilla meringue cake was fluffy and airy.
The only issue is how small the restaurant is. When I say tight quarters… i mean TIGHT! You don’t even know where to stand because a million waiters and patrons are constantly trying to maneuver through the place. It’s quite overstimulating, luckily we were a large party that was seated in the back.
Shachar Ashkenazi An absolutely exceptional experience.
The service was truly top-notch, and most of the dishes weren’t just delicious - they were genuinely MIND-BLOWING!
A memorable evening from start to finish, it is definitely one of the best dining experiences we had in the city.
We cant wait for an excuse to be back here for another magical evening!

Kirsty Visiting this restaurant is an experience, not just a meal. Everything about it our visit here was fabulous. For us it was a splurge while visiting New York, to celebrate our Engagement, and The River Cafe kindly gave us a window table for this special occasion. The skyline looking back across New York from under the Brooklyn Bridge was truly spectacular. New York even decided to have it start snowing while we were there which meant we walked out into a winter wonderland. There was also someone playing the piano which added so beautifully to the ambiance. The food was flawless. Everything we ordered was taste profile balanced and so yummy. There were complimentary little entrees before our chosen entrees arrived. The pace of food coming to the table was not rushed. The service was excellent. The only thing I can think of to enhance the meal/experience would be a palate cleanser. I would highly recommend a visit to the River Cafe.
