Ramin I finally made it to Kreuz to try their BBQ. The brisket was fine, but honestly a little dry for my taste, which was disappointing since that’s usually the star of the plate. The sausage, however, was really flavorful and juicy, definitely the highlight of the meal. The atmosphere is great—big open space with that classic Texas BBQ vibe, and it feels like the kind of place you want to sit down and enjoy a meal with friends. Service was straightforward and quick. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I’d probably come back more for the sausage and atmosphere than the brisket.

Ray I was told Blacks was some of the best BBQ in the state of TX so I had to come by and check it out for myself. I was not disappointed. Got to meet the owner as he was great to come by and introduce himself. The food was excellent. I had sliced brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, cole slaw, and black eyed peas. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. When I am back in the area I will return.

ODell Bishop So happy to have Marios in the neighborhood! In the space formerly occupied by the decent Los Huaraches, the East side Marios has organized the room nicely, making it easier to move around. I had the migas plate with bacon, it was delicious. Service was great, and Ive heard they have some exciting plans for this location. Stay Tuned. Go eat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

14.Barbs B Q

Address: 102 E Market St, Lockhart, TX 78644

Tori Garcia Barbs B Q is an absolute must-visit every single time I’m in town. The moment you step up to the counter, you can see the passion behind every smoky, perfectly seasoned bite. Their brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs practically fall apart when you look at them, and the sides—from the creamy green spaghetti to the Pork Stew—hit that perfect blend of comfort and creativity. One thing that makes Barbs B Q truly special is their loving crew. Every staff member greets you with genuine warmth, excitement, and pride in what they serve. The unique and fun environment is something I’ll continue coming back for. And don’t skip dessert—seriously. Their seasonal desserts are little masterpieces that rotate throughout the year. Whether it’s a rich, warm pineapple cobbler or something chilled and refreshing for hot Texas days like their abuelita chocolate or their strawberry shortcake dessert, it always feels handcrafted with care. Overall, the place feels like it has a never-ending supply of tastiness. Every plate brings something new to adore, and every bite makes you wish you had a second stomach. If you want barbecue that blends tradition with creativity—and a team that serves it with heart—Barbs B Q delivers every single time.
