Jones December The overall experience was nice. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The gentleman that brought our appetizers to the table just sat them down and walked away. Although we said thank you, we were not acknowledged by him. The overall meals were great. One minor issue was that the loaded fries were kinda soggy, but still edible. Despite the two minor things...I suggest a visit to this spot. Please be sure to try the mac and cheese, wings, and waffles. Oh yeah and be sure to order a strawberry lemonade. We will definitely be going back!

Lakesha Boyd I’m so happy to give my first five star review of 2026 to 1929 Po-Boy Kitchen! It was so good! I’m from Louisiana and it’s so hard to find an authentic po-boy that reminds me of home so this place brought me back in a good way! A few of our friends recommended this spot to us and we ordered a large shrimp po-boy that we split and ordered the boudin egg rolls. When I saw the food, I knew I was in for a treat! Before I get to the food, the customer service was amazing! We were walked through the menu and received so many recommendations of what to try which was a plus! Now the food was seasoned to perfection!! We were extremely impressed! We’ve been raving about this place since last week! Will definitely return to try some different menu items.

Robin Andrews A 10/10 meal. Definitely one of the best dinners I’ve had not just in Texas, but the entire US. Everything was delicious, but a special shoutout goes to the Gulf Redfish, which was a singularly tasty and well-constructed plate of food. Phenomenal. Make the time to come here if you’re in Houston; you won’t be disappointed.

5.Josephines

Daniel Lee Food was amazing and there’s tons of parking in the front- get crabs fingers, shrimp and grits a little greasy and salty for me, the chicharrones from the tuna was stale but they fixed it and it was amazing. The chicken skewers had skin so made it tasty, the tuna is out of this world, always try the jerk fish collars it’s out of this world. The oysters have flair but a little dry- worth trying though- all in all an amazing meal. The jambalaya balls we’re not that special for Michelin place but it was good. Total bill for 9 people $400.00

6.Underground Hall

Address: 1010 Prairie St, Houston, TX 77002

(489) user ratings total:

D M I love coming here! I particularly gravitate towards Wokker (their brisket egg rolls are the bomb), but recently, I tried BunSlut. I didnt get his name, but one of the guys working there helped answer any questions I had about the menu items and was super friendly overall. Their burger made me wish other places would utilize potato buns more—such a game changer! The signature sauce is so good I kept dipping my fries in it rather than just ketchup. Which is something I rarely ever do. The regular seasoning for their fries are pretty interesting. The patty was also seasoned really well. Overall, a very exceptional burger. I havent tried the other vendors here, but I imagine, based off this and Wokker, that theyll be good. Parking can be annoying at times, and depending on how far you are, the walk to get inside can be uncomfortable, especially during the evenings.

7.Foreign Grill

Igor Ivushkin I ordered food here today and everything was excellent! The borscht was rich, flavorful, and tasted very homemade. The portions were generous, and the fresh buns were perfect with the soup. The samsa pastries were especially good — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Korean-style carrot salad was a great touch. The manty were soft, hot, and well-seasoned with a nice dipping sauce. Service was quick, and everything arrived hot and nicely presented. You can tell they cook with care here. Definitely coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Robert Mendoza This place is in Downtown Houston!!! The atmosphere is overwhelming, the staff is amazing. Their menu selections are great!!! We had a party of five and the waitress took care of all our needs quickly. The food from the appetizers to the main course were warm and ready to eat. The music is soft and the conversations are very pleasant.

Anthony Dominguez Salt and Sugar Gastro Bar is an absolute gem in Houston. I had the chance to try a few dishes including the lasagna and steak, and both did not disappoint—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. To top it off, the tiramisu had just the right touch of coffee to make it the perfect ending to the meal. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and you can truly see the passion he has for his restaurant and his customers—it shows in every detail. If you’re lucky, you might also be greeted by the hostess with the sweetest smile and the bluest eyes you’ll ever see, which makes the experience even warmer. IG: anthony_dominguezz

Patrick Zajac Xochi is stellar! First time having purely Oaxacan cuisine and it was great. You MUST start with the Mole sampler; I didn’t even know so many varieties of Mole exist! They were all delish and so different from each other, yet I couldnt pick a favorite because I loved them all. For my main I had the Barbacoa de Res de Zaachila which I really enjoyed. The rolled tenderloin was really cool and it was just a well rounded dish. For dessert if I’m gonna get anything here it’s gonna be chocolate. So we got the Cremoso de Chocolate, some Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Churros on the side. Everything was fire and I would have again.

12.Rosalie Italian Soul

Address: Baldwin Hotel, 400 Dallas St C, Houston, TX 77002

(378) user ratings total:

Corey Nicholas Collins Great lasagna, cocktails and scenery Came to the Rosalie for an anniversary dinner, which was recommended as it is conveniently located in the C. Baldwin hotel. Not only was the food delicious but the service from Tannis was great as well. We started with the garlic bread, which was very flavorful with a delicious marinara. Main entrée was the lasagna and salmon dish, which were both delightful but delicate. as far as ambience, the Rosalie has multiple different seating venues, which make it a great place depend on what kind of vibe you want. Not only was this place of surprise, it will be a new go to. Will be back to devour more of the menu….

R David Paine III I had the grilled rainbow trout and it was outstanding — perfectly cooked, topped with olives and capers, and served over a bed of rice, spinach, green beans, broccoli, and sweet potato. Really well done. Cocktails were poured decently and priced at $13. The trout was $22, which felt like a steal for the quality. I also tried the three-chocolate mousse cake, but it had that “refrigerated too long” taste. Not a dealbreaker, just not their strongest item. Overall, I’d absolutely come back. Great meal, calm atmosphere, and good pricing.

Rachel Scott Came here with family from Louisiana and we enjoyed everything we tried. Oxtails with rice and gravy, black eyed peas and greens were seasoned well. Cajun pasta, wings, yakamein, red beans and boudin balls all met expectations.
